i watched it, i wasnt that impressed with the story they chose to open up with. however next weeks promises to be much cooler!!

me too. I think they are trying to go chronologically starting with the first real big UFO event. I was surprised they opened with that too. Personally I would have opened with something more substantial, more concrete. They actually made it seem kindof rediculous when that one guy ( not a geologist right? ) is down at the bottom of the harbor scouring around for some bits of that material from 60 years ago. dear lord....who would've thought he'd come up with a few small rocks.

But I'm going to watch it every week anyways, hopefully it gets more logical and concrete. Props to the scientists invovled, good for you. I hope you get all kinds of grants for this. You deserve it. ( The real way to get scientists to study ufos ... money , so they can invest in what they really like to work on )

The Maury Island UFO sighting is an admitted hoax, so what was there to "investigate"?

Oddly enough, the Sci-Fi Channel aired a show called "UFO Hunters" at the same time The History Channel aired theirs. It's not the same show.

No...that link proves nothing...I only post it as a reference. The "perpetrators" admitted it was a hoax many years ago...if you would rather believe the hoax, then be my guest.

But that is truly one the problems with the investigation of this phenomenon, the fact that previously proven hoaxes and especially hoaxed photos are re-circulated and investigated. The documentary 'Out of the Blue' shows no end of hoaxed photos (Ed Walters Pix, Meyers Beam ships, the shaky flying saucer flying behind a building in Mexico, City, etc.) and this is supposed to be the pre-emminent UFO documentary.

Yes, they should remove all know fake pictures, movies and hoaxes from the show, or at least stamp on them "FAKE".

To let these know fakes with legit cases discredits the entire program.

Sort of where I was going on a different thread regarding Roswell, why spin our wheels on something we 'know' is a fake or weak (Roswell) at best rather than focus on the legit stuff. See my thread I started on the Concord UFO film footage, I finally got a link posted about 4 replies down.

I was not impressed with the first show. I'll watch it one more time. Talk about wasteing a whole hour when it could have been done in a half hour or less. Maybe three strikes and you're out.
