The mother then says "You're strangling me" and calls for help from her husband, who is sitting nearby watching a game of rugby on the television.
The father quickly enters the frame, and following a sudden movement he screams: "You tried to stab me! You tried to stab me!"
I think we found a motive...the girl was clearly driven insane by her parents constant narration of their daily lives.
"I am sitting down watching rugby, with my beer in my hand..."
"I am at my computer, unaware of my impending strangulation..."

I totally agree with black dahlia 83. I'm kinda surprised. Or maybe they were abusing her and she's fighting back. Or she's mentally insane. Or it's the dad and she got the genes.

Well, I know about kids fighting back. Maybe she's fighting back against her abusive parents, or one of her parents is abusive or she's just mentally ill.

Lol, sooooo waiting for Youtube. . .
It is sort of weird that they didn't say anything about the reason she may want to do this. Of course, some kids are just crazy. . .my husbands stepsister is twelve, and she's always threatening to kill her stepfather in his sleep with a pair of scissors. . . she's just a bit mad in the head. . . I wouldn't put it past her to try something similar. .. . Children these days. . .tsk tsk. . .I hope my son doesn't grow up so mentally depraved.

----------
I couldn't find the video but here's a news story from
BBC News.
----------
Girl detained over parent attackA 17-year-old girl who filmed herself trying to strangle and stab her parents at their Cambridgeshire home has been made the subject of a hospital order.
The girl, from St Neots, was convicted in February of attempting to suffocate her mother with intent and unlawfully attempting to wound her father.
Judge Gareth Hawkesworth said that she had been suffering from an illness she was unable to control.
Until her condition improves, the girl will be treated in a psychiatric unit.
Heard voicesThe girl was cleared during the trial of charges of attempted murder. She told jurors a voice in her head had told her to kill her parents in the attacks, in the living room of the family home.
The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told the court the voice "showed me what it wanted me to do".
She said: "It was just an image in my head, my mother with a noose around her neck, my dad with a knife in his chest."
The incident happened after an argument with her father in February 2007 when the girl was aged 15.
Read the full article... it's quite bizarre...

Well I would be interested in the whole story especially hers. I do not believe everything reported to me at face value by the media especially since they are selling a product and any subsequent stories related to it. When videos are involved alot of times they just report it from an angle and when you see the actual video it is not what you were originally led to believe. Sort of like previews for a movie that when you go and see it was nothing like the previews.

WOW!!! That little girl has serious family issues. Mentally Insane
I think that she is not mentally insane. I mean she had everything planned out and had it set up so that her father would fall for it. I think that even for minor she should be tried as an adult "highly intelligent" she i KNEW what she was doing. It kind of makes you wonder what our youth now days will do if we tell them no.

She obviously was rebelling about not being allowed to watch CSI, and thought she would make a crime scene of her own. Course if she had watched CSI she may have gotten away with it.

Sad story, I remember a fairly recent local situation that turned out worse. A girl wanting to convert religions decided to kill her parents. She killed her mother and stabbed her father in the chest. All this so she could run away with some boy. Astounding. I could not raise a finger against my mother. I would dead set be having second thoughts if I was the boy she wanted to run away with too. Scary.

It makes me laugh when people say "Kids these days" or "I'll never have kids now".
Hey people, that's only one person, it's far from being a majority.
It's clear that she got some mental issues, but we don't know the whole story.
We don't know her side of the story, maybe his dad is a crazy alcoholic who molest her every night, and her mom beats her.
It would drive pretty much anyone crazy.
