That's actually the earth in that pic... the white hot glowing thing is solar pressure on the magnetosphere...and the pressure is right off the charts.

Thats a relief tongue.gif I think our sun affects our weather pretty much, even small changes in the sun could parhaps change our weather dramaticly. But hey, it could be worse, just look at Jupiter, thats bad weather! This data looks scary tho.

There is actually nothing "abnormal" about Sunspot 982.
Sure it's big, but we have experienced bigger ones in the past.

Weather effects? Well, lots of things effect the Earth's weather, and the Sun is but one of those things.

Interesting? Of course. Do we need to be concerned? Not really.

If I could, I would blame 982 for all the snow we've been receiving lately. original.gif

Isn't this the natural occurance of the sun? Isn't the heating and freezing of this planet also happened in the past history of Earth?
