This happened in mid-2006, one of my first of a few close encounters with something from the other world. It happened during a trip to Dempsey Road. I was there to do research on a church building.

Dempsey was an army camp many years ago, now opened to the public, but many parts of the area are still like wilderness. Opposite is the Tyersall estate and Botanic Gardens. It was around 2pm, sun shining brightly, walking in somewhere which seemed so detached from civilisation. Then, the weird experienced happened, a close encounter with something from another world. Strangely this incident didn't scare me, but left me very puzzled.

I was walking along Minden Road, towards Holland. On my right is the golf course. At the junction of Minden and Holland, is a huge thick clump of vegetation, undergrowth, vines, trees, all mashed together. Then strange thing started to happen. I can't explain why but my eyes was suddenly attracted into the bush. Even as I walked beside it, my eyes were still attracted into the vegetation, and suddenly a vision appeared in my head, like as if something is hiding inside, looking at me.

I already had this 'vision' a few times, as if I'm looking thru the 'thing's' eyes. Finally after like few seconds I can finally "break free". But it gets stranger. About 1 min later, we were in front the golf course. Suddenly from behind, I heard a loud growl, like a leopard or some big cat. I turned around, seriously thinking there's an animal which had escaped from the zoo. Of cos my first reaction was "did anyone hear an animal growl"?

Then, few seconds later, it came up again, this time much nearer, from behind me. I turned back and there was nothing there. When I turned back to the front, the growl was just 1m in front of my face, but there was nothing there! Just people walking along the pavement! So what was that?! Very creepy.

interesting, you don't hear of many animal spirits. Is there any history which would indicate a big cat had lived in that area?

The area was a former army camp, after the army left, the place was taken back by the government, then opened to public by renting the buildings out. Part of the grounds was turned into a golf course. Other buildings were rented out to F&B and retail outlets. Opposite it is Tyersall / Woodneuk, the largest estate in Singapore, which had been abandoned for almost 20 years, and inside it's pretty much a forest, totally overgrown. The mansion itself was also infamously reputed to be haunted.

I'm wondering if it was something which lives in the forest. One things for sure they are no big cats here except in the zoo tongue.gif Wild tigers existed in Singapore tho, during the colonial era.

Another strange thing which happened was a vision, an image in my head of what the entity looked like. I'm not sure if its my imagination though.

"Invisible Leopard" is the name I gave my encounter. I have no freaking idea what that invisible growling thing was. No matter what, it left a very deep impression on me, in the bad sense.

Honestly, what does s/he have from lying? :/ I don't think there's anything they're going to gain from it, and in my opinion, s/he has included quite a bit of information and detail, something that's not very common with your usual liars.

If it's so ordinary, then surely you've got a better response than, "Or you are just lying."

To the OP: I have a tendency to connect events like this to the antics of spirit guides, if the event lacks an explanation, or the explanation seems to elude you. You said that tigers used to live in Singapore (you live there?) a long time ago? I don't know a lot about Asian culture, but tigers are normally a popular figure aren't they? Just curious. laugh.gif I don't have a whole lot to say. D;

LMFAO at you. Yes becuase it is SO much more likely that he saw an invisible leopard in a vision rather than he was just lying.

And FYI what does he have to gain from reporting seeing an invisible leopard?

And furthermore there have been numerous people who have made crap up on this website. I knew a guy who got banned and he claimed to have incredible visions of ghost etc. and everybody believed him, until he spilled the beans to someone, they told a mod and he was banned. EVERYONE believed him, and he was laughing his head off, just like this leopard guy is at you.
Ebonykrow
So just how do you see an invisible leopard?

And that's what I'm asking you, what does he have to gain by lying, when he has a reputation to lose?

I could care less if he's laughing his head off at me, at least I'm trying to help in the situation, as I thought that was the purpose of this forum.

Lets open your mind an realize that the supernatural is all around and that your experience may have demonic roots ????
Undeadskeptic
Grissy, this is a discussion forum. Do you know what discussion means? Im sure you do. Then surely you understand that this isn't a website where we "help" out peoples situations, instead where we discuss our opinions on matters related to the unexplained.

He has nothing to lose by lying or by reporting the truth so therefore I ignore that redundant argument.
nohands
animal spirit may roam around,, but i don't think they will attack if they are not harmed.
maybe that leopard is being disturbed or maybe that an spirit imprint only.
Ebonykrow
Helping is contributing to the discussion in a manner that is productive, that's the way I see it. Not helping as in, "This is what's wrong, this is what needs to be done."

I agree with Nohands, I doubt the spirit of an animal would attack something if they're not harmed; living animals act in that way, unless they're hungry or confused. Dunno, maybe it was a big cat that lived on the golf course a long time ago and it's resting place was disturbed during it's construction. *Shrug*

Hearing distinct sounds that aren't there can a fairly serious issue. I think you should make an appointment to get your hearing evaluated and possibly talk to your doctor about a psychological analysis as well. It doesn't mean you're r******ed or psycho, but it could be very easily amended.

It's strage noone else heard a thing when there were many peeps around.
Undeadskeptic
Id say.
Xeaphon
It probably was some sort of spiritual/paranormal experiance as you said that you weren't scared, just puzzled and if it was a physical growl you'd probably be a bit scared

I heard something growling, following me from behind and growled right in front of me, say 1m away but there's nothing there. Not sure what it was. "See" as in a vision in my head. As what I've said earlier.
