Thanks

It wasn't tested at Area 51 but you may be thinking of the Avrocar:

These types of craft are very interesting. I actually built a small craft much like these when I was younger. Not very powerful, but I got it to hover. I've seen many proof of concept designs on these. They were supposed to be the next generation of fighter planes. Obviously, they never got them to work correctly. They are simpley too dangerous, and there is not enough control over them. Perhaps one day someone will come up with a design for one that works the way we want them to, but I think the technology for it is still pretty far off.

Now, before anyone jumps on this thread and claims that the government actually designed these things from reverse engineering a "recovered alien spacecraft", its not true!!! These craft(and even the ones the Germans built during WW2) are powered by turbines and AIR. Since there seems to be a slight lack of air in space, these obviously were not engineered from any type of craft that traveled through space.

You could probably try unreal aircraft
Disc aircraft of the 3rd Reich for german nazi era and foreign discs.

hmm naaah neither the germans nor the americans had and have the tecnology to build flying saucers.
That kind of documentarys fits under sci-fi, because they are the work of fantasy.

True, extreme problems with stability and directional control, however, for a very interesting treatment of the subject with some unreal allegations read 'Hunt for Zero Point' by Nick Cook. Cook is an editor for Janes' Defense Weekly and has a great deal of credibility but I don't buy all of his arguments.

Fascinating read nonetheless, 'Hunt for Zero Point' by Nick Cook.

Also see his History Channel documentary covering much of the book, 'An Alien History of Planet Earth'.........which was showing yesterday (2/5).

I will add that despite my skepticism, there are some very credible people ( like Cook) formerly within the military and in the journalistic ranks that claim that we did/do have a saucer program and flew some advanced prototypes. I simply don't see how that is possible.

Area 51 really is something, Bob Lazaar who claims to have worked there talks about top-rank scientists testing advanced aircraft while the lower rank were put in a "caffeteria" with curtains in the windows so not even they could see what was going on outside, Also, in Area 51 was made the F117 many decades ago (first Stealth plane with diamond shape) And the SR-71 (fastest plane back then and one of the most expensive ones (2 billion each)) wha tI'm saying is that, I also am one of those guys who believe that many of those UFO's people see are actually high tech planes made by the government, cause even back then in the 80's people saw the F117 and thought it was a UFO, till they released it's existence in the 90's.

I agree many ufo's are high tech planes, bizzarre looking stealth planes..or drones. But that doesent mean they are flying saucers like some people (mostly conspirationist) belive.

im with you, I dont see how we could fly "ufo's" we simply dont master they tecnology. Even if we have a saucher inside some fancy secret base.
Perhaps the alien tech can inspire new ideas and explore new path we would never tough possible, but i dont belive we will be able to rebuilt the craft.

I like how in the top picture, it looks as if the guy in the cockpit is walking along with his legs underneath it, like the Flintstones' car.

Some unlikely theory suggests aliens are helping the government with designs of these new ufo-like aircraft.
One of my theories is that they have obtained one of these alien aircraft and studied it to create a new type of aircraft.
