Maybe there really are time travelers. Why dont they just come out and say "i'm a time traveler!" or tell us things we need to improve our lives or something.

This is my opinion, but I believe that something is going to happen to the earth and us before we invent a time machine. Maybe the earth will die on (your favorite date! doomsday! ) Maybe it will improve for the better. Maybe, instead of technology getting better, it somehow gets worse.

Just some thoughts

Not sure if I believe in the whole time traveling bit... but I do believe things will get a lot worse before they get better.....

I believe things will get a lot better before they get worse. Negative thoughts and energy produce negative situations.

Maybe they are gently, subtly nudging us in a direction that has kept us from destroying ourselves. But would they be doing that so that in our future they would exist so that they could come back in time to make sure that we don't destroy ourselves so that in our future they will exist.... Like going to to work to earn money to pay for gas to put in your car so that you can go to work to earn money....... Why?

Greg Bear wrote about something similar in his book "Eon." A giant spaceship gets slung back in time to just before an event in Earth's history they called "The Great Death," a massive nuclear war that decimated Earth's population. Since the "inhabitants" of the spaceship had no record in their history of a giant spaceship showing up just before The Great Death, they decided they were in a different timeline. They then had to decide what their responsibility was to the people on Earth who were and were not their ancestors (save the ancestors from the misery and destruction the descendants knew was coming, or allow it to happen knowing that they themselves were/will be the result at a later time.) Although it wasn't the main theme of the book, Mr. Bear did an excellent job of examining the conflict.

Maybe so. I don't consider my self pessimistic, only a realist.

What happened to Jesus Christ when he said unexpected things ?
What happened to Gallileo Gallilei when he made weird, outlandish claims ?
What happened to John Lennon for what he said that people didn't like ?
What happened to Ghandi ?
What happened to Benazir Bhutto ?

History is full of people killed for saying things that the ruling body, or the population didn't like.. If you went back in time from now to 1630 or from 6472 to 2008, would you pop up out of the blue and say 'Hi people, I'm a Time Traveller ?'

You wouldn't say much else after that ....

I believe we experience the effects of reverse time travel. Look at all of the innovations that Thomas Edison came up with through his experimentation. Many of his inventions set the stage for the technology revolution that we are now living in. When asked where his ideas came from his reply was that they just came out of thin air.

Maybe they do . But who is listening ?
Blue Box
Realistically, if there were time travelers who popped out of the blue and said "Hey, I'm a time traveler.", this person would get odd stares from people, and people would go on with their lives. Now, if they kept on making an annoyance of themselves they would be taken into custody of the police, taken to a mental hospital, evaluated, and finally thrown into a padded cell never to be heard from again. Ok maybe they are heard from by the nurses, along with the men with the neat looking white coats, and such who daily hear the guy/gal ramble on about the distant future. That's what would most likely happen in today's society.
In earlier time periods lets say the 1600's they would most likely of been charged with being a "witch" or what have you, this would sadly lead to their deaths.
