Thinking of buying this...but a few questions?

Can I handle the game with:

NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT, DirectX9c, 2GB RAM, Windows XP?

Under system requirements it's recommended that I have 12GB free space...that's odd...usually games just ask for about 200MB...12GB is a bit extreme...why do I need so much free space?

I just don't want to buy the game and find out I can't actually run it (smoothly).

How big is it? For example, can you enter a server at any time and have a bunch of people to kill?

Thanks

Don't waste your time if your looking for a solid FPS or Multiplayer game.

Its biggest draw is graphics and physics, not much beyond that.

Super Pancake
you should be able to run it on high settings assuming that is your specs and your drivers are updated.

As for the game it self it is a decent game but Inhuman does have a point there are better FPS games out. Buy it only just because you like fps games I think it is worth the purchase and of course the mod community will make the game better years to come.

As for the 12gb thing well welcome to next gen pc gaming there just going to get bigger and bigger as hdd become bigger and cheaper and graphics get better.

Thanks guys.

I'm actually thinking of just getting the Orange Box (which I just discovered...man, I'm seriously out of the loop).

Team Fortress 2 seems to be what I'm looking for...how do you think my specs are for that game?
Super Pancake
Well team fortress is made by Valve they are a good at making games scalable for all types of pc's your specs are well beyond the recommended specs.

Yea i run it on almost all high on a 6800 OC,so urs should be able to run it with no probs.

Truth be told is that you won't be able to run this game at it's highest settings even if you got paid, I played it, and I beat it, and trust me it's not that great, I hated that ending and I don't know.. I just think it wasn't that great.. wait for Far Cry 2 to come out.. now there's a beauty.

Wow Farcry period sucks, besides the graphics, farcrys overall gameplay sucks. The vehicles are crappy, cant even see your hands,i wanna see someone drive an atv with no hands, shoot, all at the same time,Crysis kicks farcrys ass all over the place. Sad thing is theyre made by the same people. But,the way u said they wont be able to run the game at its highest settings, with those specs yes they will,my crappy comp does. ANd they have a hell of alot better stuff than me,im running All on High/Very High, besides Sound Quality, and thats cause when the guy talks it sounds to loud. So i lowered it, Even if u cant run on Highest, its a bad ass game and u should get it. Oh btw that wasnt a personal attack lol,i jsut never liked Farcry,it was boring.

OHHHHH Farcry 2......sh** sry man lol, even u have to admit the first cple of farcrys sucked balls, nah Far Cry 2 looks awesome. Plus its like Crysis for the console lol. Sry abou that.. Foot in the Mouth now lol.
