THE BAD
You were always there for me...
Raised without a father I always turned to you...
Why did you have to leave...
A guiding light for me and my brother too...
You couldve stayed for us, you know...
But it was the all the alcolhol and booze...
That stuff tore you apart, you had it hidden and stowed...
Why did you drink when Don died? Why did you choose to lose?
This world is f*cked up, I agree with that...
Is that why you hit the bottle? You hurt our hearts even more...
You never would hurt a fly! But you just drank that sh*t flat...
If you stopped it we wouldnt have had to show you the door...
When you were in the intensive care we missed you...
If you hadn't drank, you would not have had to go...
You should have forgotten the poisons of the booze...
But your addiction just made you slow...
Your descent began as quickly as it's ending...
All your explanations all so of lies...
Im sorry I did not say it my heart was still mending...
But I will miss you so much more since you died...
THE GOOD
So few words can utterly say,
How I felt when you died that day,
I fell to my knees and felt like it was I who was dying,
My world turned upside down while I was crying,
The places you told me about,
The tales of the floods and the drought,
Golfing together and other memories,
The pictures of you young in your former glory,
So long my friend, I remember you as the days pass by,
I wish I was there in your final days, with a watchful eye,
I would have saved you my friend, you would have survived,
But now your gone alas, I say goodbye...
