So, last year my partner and I were sat watching the TV and all of a sudden this massive ball of "lightning" appears and speads, kinda like an egg does when you crack it into a pan. Anyways we thought it was the electrics at first and called an electrician in to check the wiring etc........turned out it was nothing and luckily the landlord paid the bill. There were no thunder storms around at the time so I'm still wondering what it is. Anyone have any idea?

Ball lightning?

Does that generally occur inside a home? Kinda dead center of a living room with no electrical current to fuel it? I know it sounds daft to ask lol.

Ball lightning is a very spooky occurance... I have seen Balls of lightning dance across power lines in electrical storms! They r absolutely amazing!! As for 1 in ur living room? Dunno try researching and see if any 1 else has experienced ur situation before

It was hard to tell. It was quite big when it expanded because that part was quite slow. Whether it was my mind playing slow motion tricks I'm not sure.

I'm also going to say it was Ball Lightning.... Were any windows open at the time? and anyone correct me if I'm wrong but I'v heard that ball lightning can go through windows.

I concur with ball lightning.

I saw one once roll down the side of the road, cut across a field and appear to roll up into an abandoned tractor trailer back. One of the weirdest things I ever saw.

The problem is there was no storm, it didn't dance around, just flashed and spread out and no windows were open, as far as I know ball lightning can go through windows but doesn't ball lightening occur when there are faulty electrics or a storm? From the videos I've been looking at it looks nothing like what I saw.
