That will explain it better than I can.
He has yet to be found, so just a warning to anyone in Illinois. :/
For those of you who don't know, Tinley Park is a suburb in Illinois, Chicago is the major city by it.

And yet another unbalanced citizen with a gun is on the loose.
You people stay safe.

There are more than 30 states in America where a law-abiding citizen can obtain a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
Illinois is NOT one of them.
Carrying a concealed handgun has become enormously popular. In most states, people who want a concealed weapon permit must attend a training class, explaining the laws and when shooting is justified. Some states also require you qualify with the weapon at a local range.
In states where it has been instituted, violent crime has gone down. Why? Because criminals are unsure if their next victim might fight back.
I live in the remote Utah desert. When I go into town, chiefly Salt Lake City, I carry a loaded pistol. I've been carrying a pistol, as a law-abiding citizen, since 1979. I've lived in major cities such as Seattle, Spokane and Denver -- and carried in all of them.
Twice, I've been saved from serious injury or death because I displayed the gun to my would-be attacker. I didn't even have to point or fire it. On both occasions, the threat was unprovoked and I simply strayed into a bad situation.
An armed citizen might have ended this Illinios shooting before more than one life was taken, long before the police arrived.
If you count on the police to help you, you're a fool. By the time they arrive, your blood on the pavement will have cooled and begun to congeal.
Harangue your legislators to adopt "shall carry" laws for its law-abiding citizens.
Fight crime. Carry a gun. It's simple.

BIG THUMBS UP TO UTAH!!!! The right way to handle things.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (CNN) -- The senior at the University of Utah gets dressed and then decides which gun is easiest to conceal under his clothes.

If he's wearing a T-shirt, he'll take a smaller, low-profile gun to class. If he's wearing a coat, he may carry a different weapon, he said.

He started carrying a gun to class after the massacre at Virginia Tech, but the student says he's not part of the problem of campus shootings and could instead be part of a solution.

"Last year, after Virginia Tech, I thought 'I'm not going to be a victim,' " Nick said.

"My first thought was 'how tragic.' But then I couldn't help but think it could've been different if they'd allowed the students the right to protect themselves."

I know in Alabama you just have to go fill out a form to get permission to carry a concealed handgun. . My husband did it, but, funny enough, doesn't own a gun anymore. I don't know about everywhere, but you don't have to have anything here to carry knives. . .I have a vast array of those because I am uncomfortable with guns (although, being from Texas and from a gun savvy family, I am an excellent shot if I do-say-so-myself). . . I know in NC there was a restriction on the size of the knife carried. . .you had to get a permit to carry one over a certain length.

Someone broke into my house over the summer while I was visiting family in NC. . . I wish I had been here. . .I have a sword collection as well as a knife collection. . .I think it would have been funny to see the look on their face when they were greeted with a five foot claymore. lol. Luckily they didn't take anything. . .still can't figure out the point of the break in. . . besides busting in a window and leaving a mess. . .

Wow, I did my apprenticship in Tinley Park and grew up very close. Sad state that this kind of thing is happening seemingly more and more often.
