I was reading a book called monsters by a guy named john micheal greer and on page 40 he claims that there is a part of the astral body that is not bound to the body by the silver cord or anything else so it can travel away from the body for how ever long it wants.Is this true?And has anybody else evey heard about this?

I also read in a second book called astral travel by gavin frost on page 71 that we have a apart of us that is called the astral consciousness and it also said that if you project this part of yourself your not bound to your body by the silver cord or anything else so you can stay out as long as you want.

By what the silver cord?How do you know that the silver cord literally holds your spirit and body together?What if the silver cord is just a creation of our mind?

some people don't even see it or may never, there is a lot going on out there that is hard to explain, many distractions. i have not seen it, yet lol. because we leave at the point where our bodies sleep, more often we go lucid. then your mind or dream is another distraction. i don't think it's a cord either, but a way for people to understand what it looks like.

Yea, your always attached with the silver cord..Many people don't see it, but it's there....It's even mentioned in the Bible(Look it up, I forget the verse)Along with your chakras and stuff....Which for Christians is enough proof...But there would be no wya to not be connecte dto your body unless you die...I guess in an NDE you could have the cord severed, but it would fix once you got sent back by god, or made the choice to come back yourself....Besides, why would you wnat to detatch yourself? Even if it didn't kill your body, it would be almost impossible to get back in....

Some people believe that the silver cord is literal and some people believe it's just something created by your mind so im not sure about the whole spirit not bound to your body thing.I guess you would have to experiment and try different things and see whats true and what's not.Like for example if there really is apart of your spirit not bound to your body you could project it by giving yourself self-sueggtions while falling asleep by saying"after i fall asleep i want to consciously project the part of my spirit not bound to my body".

Well, I think in order for AP to be possible there would have to be some way to stay attached
if there wasn't people would be able to switch bodies with the dead or other people who are doin AP...
