Hello i just wanted to share a story from one of my sister's uncles. this is all true

My friends uncle was deeply involved in organized crime his whole life and was suspected of robbery, murder, and many other charges. He was a very bad man, hated everyone, and showed no care or love for anyone. on his death bed his heart stoped for a couple minutes and he said he felt as if he was being burned alive, like he can feel his skin bubbling and melting off his bones. He told me that he believes that was hell. The doctors revived him and he still lives today his life completely changed, he now shows love to his family, has been asking for forgivness everyday fro what he has done and mostly trying to become a better man for the last years of his life for he never has to feel that feeling again.

So this is what i believe hell actually feels like

I,ve heard several stories of this kind, and people being revived, then changing their lives for the better! When God really wants someone he,ll often let them get a taste of what being seperated from him will be like! It,s great he finally woke up and saw what he needed to do! Change! Thanks for sharing!

There are reasons why your uncle felt like he did when his heart stopped and it has nothing at all to do with hell. It was heat doing what it was doing, but it was the entity surrounding the earth trying to revive one of the people. It is so good that the entity now has one more caring person!

I do not believe in the Dante version of eternal torture in fire and brimstone, although the warning above the gates of hell was appropriate “Abandon all hope yee who enter here”.
The final out come may be far worst than that.
I believe that we should live our lives in loving service to others and to our Creator and in return we will have the opportunity to continue that created purpose. If we live our lives in self gratification and hedonistic desires then we shall be left alone with our best friend (ourselves) separated from all others and the Creator. Loneliness and absolute seclusion from interaction with others to me would be far worst than eternal torture and humiliation. When Jesus encountered the legion of demons within a man, they begged Him to allow them to enter a herd of swine rather than return to the dark emptiness of the pit.

IMO, if there is an afterlife, it is based off of your personal beliefs, just like many paranormal/spiritual things that happen in life is based off of your personal beliefs, I don't believe there is a hell (though there is something similar in my beliefs) and I think the afterlife is probably just like Earth, all people, good and bad go there. That is an interesting story though, and I'm glad he changed his ways,

It's good to know that he turned himself into the authorities and is now serving his well deserved sentences for his crimes.

But wait, you didn't say that, now did you?

I'm sorry, but your story comes across as just another made up morality tale. Nice try, though. thumbsup.gif

Some studies have shown that most of the people having near-death experiences are changed by it, tending to be more good. Whether or not they were the ones who saw heaven or the few who felt hell.

No grounds for calling this account untrue, your accusation sounds somewhat arrogant and uninformed.

Common sense would dictate that if the man truly wanted to atone for his sins then he would choose to do the right thing and pay for his crimes as well as his sins. If this is indeed what happened and the individual is currently incarcerated, then it's not my fault if the OP left out this (IMO) critical detail. In fact, that would have made the story a touch more credible.

And just to be clear, I am not arguing for the existence of an afterlife hell. Hell is something that (again IMO) can be experienced in one's own lifetime.

Oddly enough the Church of England said that Hell doesn't actually exist.

What is the point of criminal law, except that punishment is there to deter future crimes? There is nothing holy or sacred about punishment, except to try to make less crime happen in the first place. Either by scaring people into not doing it, or by making sure they don't have the chance to repeat their crimes. If the man in question was a criminal, the purpose of punishment would be to make him a non-criminal. If a near death experience accomplished that task of changing his ways, how much voluntary self-sacrifice should we expect? I am not saying those he harmed should be his friends now, but I know that heaven has more mercy than most people can understand.

If I get this straight, what you are saying is that just because the man found religion he should be exempt from serving any time for his crimes? If you look at the OP again you will notice that he was allegedly suspected of murder.

According to you, he should walk free just because he was "scared" during a NDE?

Amazing.

Yet there was no mention of his being tried or convicted of murder. He did not find religion from a jail cell, this is not the same case.

This was my initial point. The story is much too neatly packaged and avoids such crucial details as to what happened afterwards. The OP does not mention whether or not the man was convicted, and that is what makes the story incredulous.

QUOTE
He still had his freedom, whether or not he changed his ways. In that regard, his change is voluntary and carries no earthly benefit. it is not being used as a ploy.

Assuming that the story is true, I'm astonished to read that there are people who believe that if someone (especially a violent criminal as described in the story) discovers faith then that person should automatically be exonerated of any crimes they committed. You mentioned finding religion in a jail cell. Have you any idea how many convicts have found religion in prisons around the world? Should their sentences be dropped simply because they now want to be forgiven for their sins?

And what of the people this man caused harm to? Do you really expect them to just forget the whole matter because he's chosen to be a better man now?

QUOTE
If you demand a punishment, he did get the death penalty, we all get death in the end.

What does the fact that we're all going to die someday have to do with this? Do you truly believe that your country's laws mean nothing and that you or anyone can break them without repercussions?

QUOTE
Would you volunteer to have your heart stopped for "a few minutes", to verify that dying is as unimportant an experience as you say?

I have stated several times on this forum what I experience and I won't bother to repeat myself. Suffice it to say that in all the hallucinations I've experienced through my oft times violent seizures I have not once believed them to be visions of other-worldly origin. The brain is a complex organ that is highly sensitive to any and all chemical imbalances.

I've had my own visions of hell, but in a very earthly context.

Adcox, I apologize if I came across a bit rude. Could you clarify whether or not the man served any jail time for his crimes? That would help.

As to his changing his ways, so to speak, if you want to believe that it was because he had a vision of hell then I won't argue with you. Religious belief has it's own set of rules that it plays by.

Adcox
ok it looks like i have to clarify more on the story. For one the details i told were from stories passed around the family about him, the only part i actually heard from him is the what hell felt like part, i don't know if the rest is true all i know was he was involved in crime

ok i don't know if he served any jail time, as from what i heard from my parents when i was young was he was suspected of various crimes but none of it was proven, alli know is he has changed his life (everything he was suspected of occured before i was born) hope that clarifies it up a bit more sorry but i have no more info but anyways the main focus of the story is what hell might feel like, And if its like what he explained i don't want togo there?

I dreamt I visited a friend who had died(in real life) in hell once. We were in a really big office room and we had to stand in line, and the lines were very long. And everywhere you looked was just another line of people taking a ticket. He said the place wasnt too bad.. just boring.. and he decided to show me around instead of waiting in line, so we took a lift up to the roof and sat up outside and over looked 'Hell'.. It was like a Mega-City One, and we were in one little office block about 20 stories high. We didnt stay up there for long.. he said it was where he goes sometimes and that its a place you arnt supposed to go. Then we jumped on back in the lift but it was like when we went back down to the lower room we found ourselves ontop of the lift where the cables are, and instead of stopping at ground floor we went through into a typical scary area of wires and things made to kill you which was under hell. It was like we were in the workings of it and had to dodge everything. I dodged but he didnt and he died again.

So yeah.. hell to me I guess is like Mega-City One but having to wait in line for a ticket outta there. Mind you that was his 'hell' so I dunno..and it was just a dream. It was very Centrelinky.

Yes, but the swine ran headlong into the sea and that would mean that the infusion of the Spirit may cause the demons to spring forth and say 'Here am I, Lord, Here am I. I make you big!'
And they run headlong into the sea of people.
