It is the ultimate predator, nature's most efficient killing machine which can hunt and kill its prey with remarkable ease.

Thought they are amazing pictures but be warned as the pictures do show the great white shark hunting and eating seals so be warned if you're a seal fan.

Ahh there harmless, your more likely to get bitten by a New Yorker than a shark or crushed by a vending machine or eaten by a tiger or killed by a bee sting or hit by a bus or crash your car or kill yourself or choke on your food or die from food poisoning or suffer alcohol poisoning or get shot or be bitten by an dolphin in an aquarium or fall of a cliff or drown or get struck by lightening (yes lightening kills more people than sharks) or get trampled by a hippo or die from a mosquito related illness or O.D or suffer a heart attack or electricute yourself or fall while skiing, the list can go on with thousands of much more mundane deaths that are more likely than shark attack even if spend everyday swimming with sharks.

Dolphin attacks are far more common than people believe, especially in captivity.

I'm with you on this one. Those damn sharks would find my land-lubbing carcass a delicacy! Their cryptid allies, the landsharks, have been trying to devour me for years.

Last night I clicked on Discovery and they had the ten most dangerous sharks on...The great white was #2, having the most attacks and fatalities...#2 was the Bull Shark.....Less attacks and fatalities but more dangerous because they come into the shallow waters. where swimmers are..What amazed me is how the shark will be after a seal, and the seal will lure it into the shallow waters where it lies beached and dies....So the smart seals are the ones that get away..... original.gif Interesting show.......

Not really, sharks don't consider humans to be food, they can't even digest us. Attacks are usually 1 bite and many are by species that do not eat anything human sized.

Very powerful and beautiful pic's! I love anything to do with the water and sharks are one of my favorite.

Fine, but I would rather stay on land and avoid even the one bite.
I'd just rather not take my chances. Why leave perfectly dry land, and go into an unkown territory where all of the senses you rely on to survive are hampered, and you are surrounded by things that are bigger, stronger, and faster than you, and that you don't even know are their until it is too late.
I'll just stay at home and watch the discovery channel.

Ah but more people die in there home than in the water! More people kill themselves test batteries with their tongue than die of shark attack. Sharks are not out to get you, or anyone, I have worked with them and the only injuries I have suffered is shark burn.

Yes, alot more people die in their own homes than in the water, and I would rather be one of those people!!

Well I've been stung by waterfish, the feeling when it raps it's tentacles around you leg just sends shivers down your spine. But then comes the pain........I'll never forget the feeling.

Yes, there's only 4 species that have attacked people. The Great White, the bull shark, the tiger shark, and the oceanic whitetip.

Hilarious! Yet, I think you're serious. I can add several other species to the attack list..............

He is right Frogfish.
Though the nature of attacks is quite commonly defensive and provoked. Nurse shark attacks are pretty much always provoked due to idiots grabbing them. Lemons have bitten people before they were even born.
Even so, shark attack is very rare and fatalities are even rarer.

Off the top of my head, large makos and hammerheads predate humans, given the chance. I'm sure there's more, that deliver more than a defensive nip.

Ah, Shark are not predators of humans. They can not digest us, we lack the appropriate oils and blubber. It is nearly always 1 single bite and are most commonly either defensive due to provocation and through mistaken identity. Only 1 species of hammerhead has been implicated in an attack (The great hammerhead) and these feed primarily in other sharks. They are in know way the correct shape to even bite properly. Mako's are common in cold waters around the world and are extremely rarely implicated in any attacks.

Sharks do not eat humans.

Intresting !

ouch,, I got stung by a jellyfish a couple summers ago.. hurts worse than getting kicked in the jewels

Sharks are pretty fierce predators. While I'm not sure I would feel good swimming with them since I'm a terrible swimmer and wouldn't go in deep water. I do know very few people are attacked by sharks yet millions of sharks are killed by humans. Seems like the humans are worse.

My bad then...
