By A Thread



It feels at times we've been abandoned
A dam buckles under hope & despair
Has joy & happiness only been loaned
Life can sometimes seem so unfair

Tears of joy become replaced with sadness
We gaze down into the mighty abyss
Suffering embraces us with a caress
As sorrow decends to give us a kiss

Another crack in a broken heart
Lying in pieces & scattered asunder
Not shown on any map or chart
A place where many eternally wander

The path to peace is covered in snow
To blindly travel would be a folly
Which way to turn is hard to know
Blinded by the winds of melancholy

The things we carry weigh us down
Becoming a burden to drain our resolve
Tis easy to give up & simply drown
As our world seems to cease to revolve

When hope dangles by a thread
And the path to limbo yawns wider
Take heart & don't succumb to dread
Remember the life of a lowly spider

Heart pounding. Stop.
Chest collapsing,
memory lapsing. Stop.
The tremors that rock my soul.
I shake beyond control.
I waiver. I savor
fewer moments in between.
Just change the scene,
my reception isn't clear.
The wavelengths interfere
with my perceptions. Stop.
Take time and think
when you're pushed beyond the brink.
Stop to see, stop to savor
the flavor of one favor
that I haven't done myself.
A craver for the subtle flavor
of resolves up on a shelf.
