Did this photo really lie around the family's house for 25 years without any member noticing the " apparition " ?
I'm with Hams on this one tho'......double exposure

I'm suspicious too. The print is damaged and it looks like double exposure. And is it really the same child?

I'm with Hammy D'E'
The flag indicates the grave of a service man or womans Grave. My reading of the image is the first photo was taken of a child sitting on a stool or a stump.
and insted of changing the film it was taken to the grave yard and snaped once more thus yealding this exposure

I found the image interesting. I saved it and looked at it real close. The image of the girl is embedded in the picture. you can see where a crack is curled in slightly and her image curls with it.
A possible answer is that another picture was layed face down on this photo and a bit of moisture came between the photo's allowing the girl's image to transfer over. There is a half circle impression next to the area of the girls head that isn't a crack but as if something with a little bit of weight was placed on it.
In my opinion, It's not a double exposure because there is no other part of the picture that shows any other image.
Either that or she's a ghost.
