Okay, not long ago my friends and i decided that instead of driving around aimlessly on nights where we have nothing to do that we should rather visit haunted places.
The first place we had heard of and went to was an abandoned car park behind a Freemasons building on a fairly busy street lined with restaurants and shops. To get in, we had to jump a huge red fence that was fairly solid and looked pretty new, but when we checked it's motor (it was an electric gate) the pinion and motor were in shocking condition and didn't look as if they'd be able to open the gate.

Anyway, first we went onto the second level because the the first level was pitch dark and none of us wanted to go down there straight away. When we got to the second level we saw that 80% of all walls were covered in Latin writings and peoples faces that were crying black tears. We also saw 7 faces painted onto one of the walls and the person who we had heard about the car park from said that the 7 faces were the faces of 7 people who had gotten hung there over 100 years ago. There was also a confusing painting of what looked like Van Gough's sunflower painting with the window in the background, but this one had Charlie Chaplin standing next to the sunflowers. The actual Sunflower painting was done between 1888 and 1889 and Chaplin was born in 1889. After we had gotten familliar with the level we spread out a bit and looked for any open doors, there were about 12 doors but every single one felt as if it were welded shut. Eventually we gave up looking for open doors and we found a fairly new model car but with years of dust on it and a registration sticker that had long expired, we scrubbed some dust off the back windows and had a look inside the car. There were several blood stains all over the seats and floor. At this point we were pretty freaked so we left the 2nd level and decided to check out the 1st level before calling it a night.

When we got to the bottom level it was extremely hot but around 4 of us (there were 8 of us) noticed that our skin on our upper body had become stone cold, yet it was boiling around us. On the floor there were literally 10,000 cigarette butts, however about 3/4's of them had only been smoked halfway. We kept walking towards the back wall of the car park and it was getting darker and darker as we got closer, but it was also getting hotter and hotter, one of my close friends started freaking out and running around screaming that something had grabbed the bottom of his shorts and pulled him back before letting him go, which was weird because he was the last person at the back of the group. He eventually calmed down and we got to the end of the car park, at this point the temperature was shockingly high. I used my phone torch to have a look around and my friend had noticed a wide open door and suggested we should go through it and have a look where it led to. After arguing about it for about 10 mins, 3 of us decided to go through while the rest waited. The 3 of us were my 2 friends and myself, as we walked in we saw a staircase leading to a wide open door at the top. We slowly climbed the stairs listening for any noises. We got to the top and walked through the door and we found ourselves back on the 2nd level, from a door that was wide open that not one of us saw as we had spent most of our time there searching the 2nd floor. We didn't have time to come up with explanations because we had heard the screams of the remaining 5 as they ran out of the 1st level back to the gate, we also started running when we heard the screams and met up with them back at the gate. When we asked what they were screaming about they said that the entire concrete floor on the 1st level had shifted at least 2 inches from under their feet. After that we showed them the door and we established that none of us had seen the door and if any of us did it certainly wasn't wide open.

We left after that pretty quickly and never went back. ohmy.gif

Lol, we'll probably head back there again eventually.
It was in Perth BTW:)

We went to an abandoned power station and a long abandoned mental institute not long after, i'll post those experiences a little later:)

Being abandoned doesn't make a place haunted...I've been to plenty of abandonments, and maybe once experienced something not caused by squaters or vandals...

Just because it's not in use, or creepy, or derelict, doesn't make it haunted.

But good story.
TreyPound
Ah yeah, i should've said the power station was were around 80 convicts were hung a long time ago.
Also numerous people died while admitted to the mental institute (when it was running) and since it's close a few murders have happened there, the most recent being 2006.

I've heard from people who've been into the mental institute that there's bloodstains on the walls in several rooms, but i'll just have to see that for myself as the first time we went there, we only walked around the outside.

The next time we go to any of these 3, i'll be sure to take some pics.
Meltus
maybe you could give a location or directions so other people could go and check out this car park original.gif
not me though, i'd literally sh!t myself lol.

How about some pictures. Someone has to have a cheapie digital camera, or disposable cameras are quite cheap. Next time you go back there, take some pictures. You can also use the flash to illuminate the dark places. You never know what you are gonna catch with a camera with a flash in a dark place.
tigger
so trey.. where exactly in perth was the car park/abandoned building.. and is the mental institute the old part of greylands?
TreyPound
The car park is along Albany Highway in Vic Park, not sure on the exact address, but it's right behind the Freemasons building, you can't miss it.
The mental institute was indeed Old Graylands, if you've been to it, you'll see that people live not even 20m away, it's a fairly established area. I'd find it horrible living so close to that place. It's also next to a High School.
The power station is the South Fremantle power station, if you're interested. It's been heritage listed so it's tricky trying to get in, I'd guess because it's one of the only open entrances into the Old Fremantle tunnels (that were closed of decades ago for some reason)that go under half of Fremantle.
We didn't go into the tunnels, eventually we will and hopefully get some pics and/or videos.

For those with Google Earth, the co-ordinates for the power station are: 32°05'39.14"S, 115°45'32.45"E
For the Mental Institute: 31°57'41.17"S, 115°46'55.38"E

I haven't been able to find the co-ordinates for the car park as yet on Google Earth.

If you really found a car with blood stains, you should report it to the police. Some family may have a murdered loved one whose killer was never caught. That car could be the clue they need to get the guy.

Also... abandoned building and the floor shifting? Doesn't sound safe. There might also be some homeless people who would not want you poking around.

Every old building is not haunted.

But every building has the potential to be.

Yeah, good point, but we try and leave the places we go to in the same state we found them in, hence not 'investigating' the car further, i know it was probably the wrong thing to do but if these places are in fact haunted it's best not to do too much interfering, all we do is scope around if it's safe to do so, and in the future we'll be taking pictures and/or video.

Safety is always the most important thing when we go to these places and we take it pretty seriously in checking out the structure and deciding whether or not it's safe enough to enter.

Anyway, we did recently go to an abandoned (and heritage listed) mental institute, not a lot really happened but i thought i may as well share the experience. Because it was heritage listed, there was a fence around it so we didn't enter the building but from the outside we could see that there was certainly some pretty interesting things on the inside. We spent only about 20mins there but after we got out of the car we walked round to the side of the building where there was a small tunnel for vehicles that separated the admin area from the rest of the building, while we were looking into the tunnel we all heard a loud ripping sound coming from inside the tunnel, we couldn't see anything as it was completely dark inside the tunnel. The actual institute is in the middle of a fairly built up area, as you would have seen from the Google Earth images (co-ordinates in previous post) and because of this as soon as we heard the ripping sound we heard about 5 dogs in the immediate area go crazy and start barking. We ran back to the car and stayed there for about 5mins before we decided to check out the back of the building.

The back of the building looked as if it were a hall of some sort but we could see cages hanging from the roof through small windows right at the top of the wall, the cages were fairly big, big enough to fit people into. While there 4 of us (there were 5 of us) sorta drifted off into a conversation about how the hell people could live happily so close to such a place. My other friend who had walked off about 5m away was having a look down the side of the building and he called me over to him cos i was the only person with a torch. He pointed to what looked like a rock in the dark, sitting against the fence (on the inside of the fence) and said to me "Is that a rock or is that someone sitting there?" So i pointed my torch at what i expected was only going to be a rock but when the light hit, both of use clearly saw the reflection of 2 eyes staring back at us. Now it was most probably a homeless person or something but he/she was wearing a really puffy dark jacket and it was a pretty warm at that time of night. But as i said before, probably just a homeless person, however it freaked us out enough to leave reaaaal quickly.

According to people that have been there before, the fence was only put up fairly recently, but about a year after the 2006 murder which i'm not sure actually happened as i've been looking for stories about it but can't find anything.

For some reason, even though what happened there wasn't as extreme as the car park, the 5 of us who went there still think of it as the scariest place out of all, perhaps because it made us imagine what went on in there and the reasons people were admitted there for.

You said - "we scrubbed some dust off the back windows and had a look inside the car. There were several blood stains all over the seats and floor."

If you seriously scrubbed dust off a window of a car and saw what looked like blood stains, no further investigation on your part is necessary.

Ghost hunting's cool, wandering around abandoned places is cool, but finding evidence of a violent crime and not reporting it isn't. Forget upsetting the ghosts. It's totally my own opinion, but I think the possibility real people affected by violent crime is a lot more important than your thrill at having a spooky story to tell.

What about the person whose blood it was? Maybe - if that person's ghost is still hanging around the car park - he or she might want to killers brought to justice... you know, to find peace?

Although... most likely... its not blood anyway.
Tia
It would be hard to tell at night what the stains were, they could have been anything.

i dont see why not? i know the place well, and i do have close connections with the freemasons wink2.gif

did you go to the old sanitorium? that place is creepy in all rights. i can understand why ppl went crazy the evergies in there are electric, and the old graylands is also freaky, but is more so in the mind as to what used to happen there and the legend of 'the head.

Aye TreyPound a friend and i recently explored the car park hearing about it through others. Photographing much of the scenario we managed to capture the car, the quotations, the tags, graffiti and the basement floor.

First of all a point to remember when u next post up something on a forum.. Back up whatever you say if u were serious about it you would have brought a camera in the first place.

The car on the 2nd floor revealed no blood even under the glare of a black light. However there had been a fair amount of dust covering the body and cobwebs forming on the outer rims. Some tags and writing inscribed on the hood "Dawgeh" and "Bosseh" also someones lame attempt at humour with the words "u are dead!" and "u freaky sh**" noted much like a diary you could tell they were written on different dates due to the amount of dust covering the writing. On further inspection there were a pair of womens shoes and what looked like a towel or jumper on the floor of the back seat. Business cards had also been conveniently placed inside. One slotted in the drivers side window and another on the dashboard. Little evidence as to how long the car had been sitting there although its registration had expired in Feb 08.

Also on the second floor there were many religious quotations, on researching on the one on the north wall they were probably followers of pagans the Welsh flag being a symbol on one of the artwork. It would do good to look into the Dragon Clan based in perth, a group who refer to themselves as witches. Amongst it other biblical quotes and graffiti.

Now the basement! tongue.gif as dark as it seemed it looked as if it were more of a gathering place for the decay of society. Needles strewn in corners and smashed broken bottles. The luminescent lights smashed out. Backing up your story there were hundreds of cigarette butts littering the floor.

Doubt hasnt escaped my mind however that the carpark could be haunted, an escaping sound of what seemed like a womens cough occured from what seemed the 2nd floor as we were searching the basement and another loud sound as we were leaving resembling a metal clang, on both occasions we went to reinspect yet there was nothing. I have heard of stories that there have been numerous suicides in the carpark which were supposedly in the news years ago. Going out on a full moon at 2am in the morn my friend and i were expecting to see more but at least we can say our curiosity has been settled by exploring the vicinity.
