A sweet 16th to my pain in the butt daughter lol, I know you enjoyed your cake.

I wonder how exactly the tradition of Sweet 16's came about. Wikipedia(The source of all knowledge) has little information on, and if Wiki doesn't have it, no one does. I turned 16 a few months ago and I found it rather horrible and depressing. It's like the end of your childhood and the end of your fun. That's nothing to celebrate. Turning 16 is also the age of consent, meaning that you will be held accountable for your actions to the full extent of the law and you can't blame it on your childish stupidity.

Sweet 16's are never a good thing either. Your child may want one very badly, but you shouldn't give them one, no matter how much they protest. It harbors the tendancies for sex, drugs, and alcohol. It's like putting a sign on your kid saying "Ready and looking". That is, only if you have the usual type of Sweet 16's I see all the time with like 100 kids. If it's just a small group of friends or something of the sort, then gogogo.
