No hidden agenda

without listening to idle chat

the conclusion falling fast
though some thoughts were left behind

the hour is getting late

love is an illusion
for we all show our true side

some stood while others lied

and it really is a shame
that oh so few have tried

It is quite sad
when times come as this

When one you loved
and thought it was bliss

Time gently ages
and unfolds a new reality

is not where you thought you'd be

Holding hands until your 85
Sitting on a porch swing

Helping, loving, caring
Until death do you part

Love is what you make of it
and it's not always easy to do

When others fail to keep their promises
and love comes crashing through

Life is good and one must love
with all of their heart and not to judge

When I sit here
And smile on memories

I do not regret
where I have been

love crashing
smashing through the past

time ticking
it seems will never last

this moment
is almost within grasp

life changes
with every loving clasp

it's enough
to hold on to an instant

but changes
are never too far distant

So I live
but not just in the past

So it seems
forever never lasts

Love can last forever
if you truly try

It is unconditional and constant
until the day you die

But if one you love
co-exisiting in a space

Has broken a promise
in your mouth a bad taste

Then what does become
of the love you hold true

Walk out? Break a vow?
That is something I won't do

I have kept my promises
I have stood my ground

No matter what is thrown at me
I don't mess around

It is simple to love
let it start with yourself

Don't close you heart in a box
and put it on a shelf

For people are human
to err is their ways

But I will not falter
I'll stand here all my days

Forever, so it seems
is a span that noone sees

and when a love can last
it's more than birds and bees

eternity drags on
without our own conscent

and only time together
seems to be the time well spent

commitment is a virtue
that is far too seldom kept

the few that could abide
were often those who wept

a martyr to the cause
that some will not forget

because we find in time
there is nothing to regret

Love is like a flower
nurture and it grows

But don't forget to water it
or step on it with your toes

Keep it warm and in the sun
let it bloom and grow

Loyalties will share with you
and with its beauty show

The care you take while tending
will spurt another bud

Multiplying all its days
and shining of your love

But if you falter
and do not care

At something else
you may stare

A bit whithered
and reaching for the sun

But still growing
as though you did not shun

It will still grow
with the love of friends

The water from the rain
the seeding will not end

That it sometimes wilts
we know can be a shame

when tending to the garden
only nature is to blame

seasons came to pass
as another harvest grows

where the seeds will sprout
only the good earth knows

long as soil is tended
the growth will have its chance

as broken hearts are mended
love will always grow like plants

Love extends beyond my friend
across the world and back again

I have enough to share with all
and will continue until the day I fall

On this pagan day; celebration of love
shine brightly through to heavens above

I won't falter or lose my mind
someone elses mistakes; not mine

It's all good and life is calm
like the silk of my hand or line on my palm

I don't hold my head any lower you see
I love many others; not passionately

And when you have love that's all that you need
it isn't about finding fault or the actions that breed

This was something that just transpired between Antithetic alOne and myself late at night just before Valentines Day. It was WAY cool when we were just going back-and-forth, blindly speaking to each other poetically. I enjoyed it greatly!! So, I cannot take credit for something that was created by the both of us.
