Does anyone know if the ORIGINAL black and white version of this movie is available on DVD, I remember watching this movie when I was 10yrs old. I've done a Google search but no luck.
Did a Wiki search and this is the link.

I hate the 2001 movie. The only good part is the part where the lawyer is chopped in half by the snapping doors, and his body is cross sectioned. After that I thought the movie might get good, but no it really just sucked.

I think it says an awful lot about you that the only part you think is 'good' is that said part.
I also think you are breaking the golden rule of cinema by watching from the perspective of someone who knows that they are watching a fictional, manufactured movie. You are supposed to identify with a certain character. One of your choice. You are supposed to try and forget that it is a movie and feel as if you are the character.

try it. get a little off your head with some mind altering drug, like... ahem... alcohol... and maybe the movie will be better..

I agree. I loved it. The visuals were fantastic. The way they made the house look, the costuming/makeup for the ghosts were phenomenal. I am a special effects artists for movies, and the person who came up with the visuals for this movie was a genius!!
As a matter of fact, about a year after this movie was released, I got an opportunity to run my own haunted house. I designed the house, and all the characters in it, with the same "feel" as this movie. My prerequisite for all the employees was to watch this movie and study the ghosts. We won awards for our haunt that year. And we were on a VERY low budget.

Thats fantastic..I would love to have seen that!!!
I think the original movie was way ahead of its time for its effects..for a 1960's movie if you look past the bad acting annd just watch the movie for what it is ,as a little kid back then it scared the poop out of me but I saw it years later and thoughtoh wowwwwww this is really cool.
If you manage to find the movie check it out.It might come in handy for another project.
Congrats again NB
