There are many reports of ghosts which appear with frequency on the anniversary of certain events, so should anyone find themselves in the vicinity of the following places why not take a look ( and a camera )

The Coliseum Theatre in Oldham, Greater Manchester:

The ghost of actor Harold Norman appears every Thursday, he was killed during a stage fight while performing in Macbeth ( on a Thursday ). A blatant attempt to increase Thursday night ticket sales ???? whistling2.gif

Exeter Cathedral, Devon:

Any day in July, usually around 7pm ( Oooooooh I DO like punctuality ), a ghostly nun is seen in the cloisters. She is said to materialise thruogh the South wall of the Church House

And for this month only :

Feb 12: In The Bloody Tower, in The Tower of London, a vague white shape is seen.
This is the anniversary of the death of Lady Jane Grey who was executed in
1554

Feb 15: Hickling Broad on Norfolk is home to the apparition of a " drummer boy "

Feb 25: The Old Court House in Hampton Court is said to be host to the ghost of
Christopher Wren who appears each year on the anniversary of his death

So.........who's gonna volunteer to check them out then ? cool.gif

idea.gif On this theme there has been some muted excitement on another forum regarding the possibility of a rare appearance by the ghost of St Paul's church, Hammersmith, west London in 2005, allegedly in August. What better time to begin making arrangements to arrive en masse for a UM ghost hunt with a reasonable promise of success? Just don't bring any firearms. wink2.gif

Hmmmmm that's a good idea A21 thumbsup.gif

Heh, I wouldn't do ya any good anyways, I spook to easily. Comes grom being able to "feel" things that most people can't.

Agent_21
I might need someone to feel my pulse if it appears on schedule. blink.gif

Anyway, there's strength in numbers. You can stand behind the rest of us. original.gif
Maybe a spare firearm might be needed.

Interest in the Hammersmith ghost was resusitated in July 1955 when the West London Observer published an article claimimg that it appeared every 50 years in St Paul's Churchyard when the moon is full.

An elderly resident told the reporter that he had seen the ghost on its last appearance in 1905, 'Wearing a white winding sheet, its eyes flaming.' The Observer had calculated that the following wednesday night would be the next occasion for the spectres return. An intrepid reporter was to sit up all night in the graveyard and wait for it....

....In fact 400 or so spectators turned up. The police had their hands full with hoaxers, ghost impersonators...and 'Teddy Boys' in white shirts. They had to seal off the graveyard and lock the gates. However, most of the crowd dipersed when midnight chimed and nothing appeared.

The few hardy sould that remained were rewarded by the sight of a figure draped in brilliant white, that apparantly had no legs, and appeared to float from the church porch. British Summer Time had altered the appointed time by an hour.

The spectre drifted in the direction of a tomb set apart from the others and dedicated to the Fenn and Colvill families. The reporters rushed from their vantage point and scurried, frantically stumbling to get a closer view, when the ghost entered the tomb and vanished.

Four other people watching from a nearby property confirmed the story and added that a strange wind blowing through the trees preceded the ghostly activity.
