What I hate about police brutality, is that a lot of people are like "f**** cops!!!" after something happens.
I mean, there are tons of honest police officers who actually risk their lives everyday for people, so when one out of a million officer do something like that, they all pay the price.
Also, when "police brutality" happens, most of the time it's not actually brutality, you just don't know the whole story.
The person maybe had a gun and killed 2 people before.
People needs to know that cases like that doesn't happen often at all, and police aren't there to hurt you.
Another example is when a teacher molest a student.
It doesn't mean that you should start hating every teachers.

i have watched people getting arrested slam their own faces into cement sidewalks, brick walls over and over again with my own two eyes.
i'm not sure if i'm buying it this time..he conveniently turned the camera off..kinda silly.

I agree, I've seen people banging their head against windows and everything and then yell "police brutality".
It happens too often, but the good thing is... judges aren't stupid, so good cops aren't falsely convicted.

unfortunately one of my friends was a victim of police brutality. i found out (at a high school reunion) that he had gone to jail, and he was the one who was beaten, by two cops. he spent two years in jail, which included his 18th birthday.
when i quizzed him on what happened, he said he couldnt remember, as he was high.. i told him (as i was there and witnessed most of it) that myself and two other girls where handcuffed and shoved with the night-sticks, and open palms.. he was taken around a corner, sorry, shoved. and then was layed into.
we didnt even know that he had gone to jail.. and i felt so bad for him, knowing that i was a witness to police brutality, and them openly lying about a crime which was not committed. he also wished that we knew about it, as it could have saved him from being in jail.
at the moment we are trying to stop a huge mistake that the cops have made, due to someone using my partners name when they were pulled over and charged from drink driving.. we received a summons to court in the mail and wondered how the hell we got it. seeing as my partner was about 200km away from where he was supposedly picked up.. and was also surfing. we are basically getting the run-around and treated pretty poorly.

I have no doubt that there are some bad cops. There are bad examples of anything in any field. I work closely with a lot of police in my line of work, there are a couple of asses, but 98% of them are good people trying to do the right thing.
different country different cops

hard to find good one here. it's economical issue

True there are those that bang them selves up and claim police brutality. But i,ve also seen several tapes that show them doing the unthinkable, and people have died as a result, as well as tapes that show them going from rude to bullying! But there,s a lot of good ones too! Yet some are power tripping jerks, and some just frustrated with a legal system that lets criminals out before the paper work is even done that get fed up, and sometimes take it out on the wrong people!

One of the local San Antonio tv channels is running an expose about bad cops here in town.
They showed one where the cop was in his private car and doing like 100 miles an hour
and he I think was drunk. Not all are bad, many are hard working individuals and really want to protect and help the public.
But you do have some stinkers.Course the public isn't much better for sure.

I agree that there are good and bad elements to law enforcement, but I also agree that the good FAR outweighs the bad, the only question here is: How do you limit the damage done by the bad ones BEFORE you realize how evil they are?
My father was in law enforcement in the city of Miami for almost 30 years, some of the things he's told me about some of the cops he's worked with would make your jaw drop, but lets face it, the 11:00 news dosen't always want to hear about the cop who received a comendation, it's not "riviting" television.

I know alot of cops in town, and so far I have nothing bad to say about them...Haven't heard or read anything about mistreatment...But about 3 years ago, State Troopers were stopping black, and only black, people on the NJ Turnpike, harrassing them and then beating the sh*t out of them, saying they were abusing these so called troopers....Well it all came to light, the black people were innocent and the cops charged....Sort of like a game to them, but they lost out..

I've known a few "bad cops". . .One was a friend of my husband who I abosolutely despised. . .he was a coke head from hell, yet had the balls to go out and arrest people from doing what he did.. .and the cops where I live down here are so crooked its pathetic. . .they're just in it because they can get away with whatever they want (and usually do). . .I was so happy when I learned that they were being investigated. but there are some good ones out there that I've known. ..ones that actually do it because they care about the place that they live and want to stop the "bad guys". Unfortunately, its usually the stories about the bad ones that you read about.

Cops............they're never around when you need them
but if you do something they are right there to arrest you.
Don't get me wrong not all cops are bad..........but a lot are. The power goes to their head.

Cops are just people, and I don't trust people. I wouldn't trust a cop I didn't know just like I wouldn't trust any random guy on the street I didn't know. It's as simple as that.
