Why would they revive this franchise after being dead for so long? Could this be part of the government controlled disclosure project? To introduce society to the possibility of extraterrestial life here and now?

No, nothing so devious or contrived, the X-Files had a huge fan base, not unlike Star Trek. It didn't need to be 'around' for movies to be successful, people have been clamoring for a second movie since the first one ended.

Speculation aside the franchise has not been dead. The X-Files has been reincarnated in comic books, movie, and a spin off in 2000 called The Lone Gunmen which was cancelled after the first season despite huge ratings.

The fan base is incredibly large for the X-Files just like it is for Trek and SW. Not making this movie would just be a bad call on the part of the studio.

X-Files I Want to Believe Trailer High Quality

Hell yes!!! Thank you for posting that, didn't know the trailer was out yet! X-Files is my favorite show of all time, simply addicted to it. The theme song is my cell phone ring tone haha. I got the new series boxed set for Christmas (somebody loves me!!) and I've been watching it like mad all over again. God, I can't wait for this movie!! I just hope they will continue to make more of them, like they have done with the star trek movies for example. I want a new one every couple years lol

With the release of this movie, I can only hope it inspires the Space channel (canadian sci-fi) to put the show back on. Oh, how I miss Krycek, like every other crazy fan-girl

I am so psyched for this movie. When I found out that they were actually, finally making another one, I was so pleased. Anyone else looking forward to this?

I saw a really bad quality trailer for it, i heard there is another trailer floating around. Cant wait for the movie.
Its going to be stand alone from the series and the other movie.

I just bought the collectors edition of the series, £77 for 61 disks, Over 144 hours of the paranormal.
