So instead of just telling you my problem I will start you off with a short story...

Okay so my story starts off as any other days as a teenager, I come home. "Oh yay it is time to go onto facebook! grin2.gif" I shout out with joy. I go to type out my email for my 2nd account (yes I have 2 I just had my one already saved, anyway) I press enter and then the the site says LOGIN ERROR, WRONG PASSWORD OR EMAIL! What is this it can't be! Oh yeah... I typed it in wrong -_- I typed in scptt.kukowski@(insert random email service)... shoot >_> (goes to tools yada yada and clears data, keeps setting for a while then gets sick of it and then goes back to putting it to default browser settings.

Now fast forward a couple days after computer being shut down, and restarting, fire fox errors... yada yada... and each time I restore session (yes I restore my session so what?) But now every time I open up firefox my emails won't save neither won't my searches. I even disabled thse from deleting. I need some help please

I was having same problem week or so ago. Not sure if this is your problem, but it's a shot...
What *my particular problem was was Trend micro- I had marked (unknowing) for Trend to clean particular areas as Trend started... This included Media, windows, all programs, Instant Messaging, all web browsers... Once I unmarked that I was fine..

What is trend micro? and no it doesn't affect my aim or msn, so it must just be firefox, and that is what I came here for =/.

oh, that... hmm

try to go show all hidden files (in explorer -> tool -> folder options -> view -> show hidden files and folders)

and then, go to your Documents and Settings folder -> Application Data, and then delete the "Mozilla" folder...

this is just to make sure that all of your configs set to default

Trend is an Anti virus program. I'm not sure if some or all have this setting or not... but just in case, you may want to make sure...check all your anti malware, or adware programs too (spybot etc.)

Your not alone MSJ, Firefox has been giving me the sh*ts too last few mths. I kept thinking it was my server till i did some checking. MSN (Updated New Version) is ok but still miles slower than Firefox.

Yea Sunni, Trend Micro (payed version) is what i got, supposed to be the best there is(?) but in weighing it up even Ad-Aware (free online version) pretty much does the same thing imo so long as you keep it updated.

JMO...

Paid version here too, Reb- For the same reasons- Not sure if I'm even impressed with it or not.. tbh.
Love the freebies... AD-WARE, Spybot, Kaspersky online scanner, and CCleaner..

and what's up with Firefox disappearing these pages here lately anyway?
REBEL
IDK Sunni, when it comes to PCs i'm still kinda in the stone age, i'm lucky if i use only 20% of it.
Last few week Firefox been giv'n me problems with loading & signing into pages sometimes bringing me back my home page, other times taking me to a blank page. So a friend recommended deleting the whole program & reinstalling it, last few days has been so far so good(?)

I did some online check'n, apparently a lot of other people are hav'n problems with it also...
So it seems i'm or rather, 'we're not alone'. huh.gif

LOL, i guess that's possibility...

but yea, I've un-installed- installed too... it's not so bad, just irritating sometimes.

Trippy, I had trouble myself a while back, I was using a scan and it kept telling me my Mirco/ Windows Security centre 'was' a virus and that it was the security risk.
I downloaded a free spam, spyware detector thingy and when It ran out my whole system went spastic.

Secondly, I have Photobucket and so does my man, most sites you can get away with useing the same email. But when It comes time to utilizing one or both at any given time, the site in question will always note an error. This is a keep safe for double logins and hackers. etc.

If you have recently installed a new Virus program, and youve not ajusted your internet accessablity and or your CPs
Security Centre it will constantly fight against your new program and block all access.

So Firefox is deleting your cookies eh?

Mine does this as well even though I have set it not to... It's a slight inconvenience but I never really checked it out and just always thought it was a bug.

Possible reasons aside from a bug include

1: Someone clearing the cookies on your computer (i.e. brother looking at porn, parents etc.)

2: Cookies expired or window performing maintenance and clearing out your temporary internet files folder.

If it is a major inconvenience and neither of the reasons above are what's responsible I suggest going to the Mozilla site and asking them about it or browsing their forums. Or you can have it set to clear your cookies once a month (recommended to keep Firefox running smooth)

There are anti-virus/anti spy,ad ware programs that may be messing up your Firefox as well. Could be any number of problems really.

Save your favorites and completely uninstall Firefox, do complete scans with virus protection and ad ware programs, get the newest Firefox verison from their main site and do a clean install? That's what I would do.
