Someone told me that bringing a shovel into the house through a kitchen is bad luck. huh.gif Apparently, after doing that, someone will die a year later.

I also heard that a fly in the water is some sort of omen...

What are your thoughts on these? Are they believable?
doomgirl
they're all just old wives tales, nothing to them unless you believe in that stuff, I put shoes on the table all the time and nothing bad has ever happened to me, altho my step mother goes off

Yup if it's a resturant... A omen of bad fortune... wacko.gif

It's 7 years bad luck if you break a mirror; it's bad luck to put shoes on the table; and it's bad luck to put up an umbrella in a house.

some of these superstitions are really dumb. why would a shovel in the kitchen give you bad luck?

Hmm I went into the site given by doomgirl and one of them said this:

"If a robin flies into a room through a window, death will shortly follow"

That can't be true... I was getting ready in a drama room once for a play I was about to present and a robin happened to pay us a little visit all on its own, no one died...not that I know of.

I had a pet robin once and he always came into the house though my bedroom window. *gasp* I never knew what danger I was in. wink2.gif
