Im not sure if they are the same or not, but I guess its possible. All I know is that I wouldnt want to meet up with it "face to face".
Since you only live about an hour from Flatwoods, would it be possible for you to do your own investigation??

They used that pic for the witch who attacked that insane cop in the car, remember the flying himaniod thread. I think I summed up my attitudes toward it there in detail.

I don't think the picture is supposed to be an actual picture of the monster in question. If you click on the original link provided under the picture it says something like this is supposed to be some sort of depiction or something. Anyway yeah I will see what I can do about checking out the Flatwoods Monster - I have some friends that live there maybe they know something. My mom says she remembers it but not much else.
And on a side note - I don't see much folklore or monsters coming from other states. It may be because I am biased to WV

but - is it me or do we really have that much "paranormal activity" here?
Update: My parents remeber it! Dad says it's the same as the Braxton County Monster - I have books with that in it I will dig the info up when I get a chance!

I have heard of it. My guess is it's a hoax. It's facinating what the huma mind can create with some junk and silver spray paint.

Well who knows for sure what it was? Alien, Robot, Witch or a hobo in a rain mac.
Guess we will never know if it was an alien its long gone now and as for robot anything could have happened. But remember the next time your in the woods and you encounter an Hobo be it a singing hobo or a stabbing one he might very well have been the Flatwood monster.

The picture in the first post is NOT a photograph of the Flatwoods monster. The kids who saw this thing back in 1952 did not take any pictures of it. They simply s*** themselves, and ran away from it !
Seriously though, who are we to say whether the sighting itself is a hoax or not ? It all boils down to whether the witnesses were joking, or really did see a horrible monster in Flatwoods on that day over fifty years ago. The chances of us ever knowing for sure are ZERO.
