As i'm no palaentologist, i have no idea but is this the worlds oldest person?

French fossil hunters have pinned down the age of Toumai, which they contend is the remains of the earliest human ever found, at between 6.8 and 7.2 million years old.

The fossil was discovered in the Chadian desert in 2001 and an intense debate ensued over whether the nearly complete cranium, pieces of jawbone and teeth belonged to one of our earliest ancestors.

I think to be technically correct you would have to change the wording a bit, I noticed even in the original article the author used the word "human" fairly liberally.

"Human" and "person" usually refer to a member of the Homo Sapiens, which this individual certainly didn't belong to.

A human ancestor? perhaps.

The human Chimpanzee split occured sometime between 5 and 8 million years ago so it may be considered a early human ancestor but but the first homo sapiens wernt around untell much mre recently.
