Despite long battle with cancer, Jeff Healey's death still shocking, bandmate



TORONTO - Acclaimed jazz and rock guitarist Jeff Healey was remembered Sunday as a musician of rare ability who had a wicked sense of humour and a generous nature as fans and bandmates mourned his death at age 41, following a battle with cancer.

I am such a huge fan of this guy and his band. It's a sad time in Canadian music.

Sad to hear the news. I caught him in the early Nineties, a great performance. At last, Mr. Healey is seeing again, this time with "Angel Eyes."

I just read that he had died. How sad. He was an awesome musician who will be greatly missed. RIP, Jeff.

Absolutly he was an incredible talent! And his music is a gift that will live on!

What!? Where the heck have I been? I didn't even know.

Great singer, fantastic guitarist, innovative style. He will surely be missed.
