Hey all,

Been a while since I been here ! This is usually where I come for help advice ect. But someone please help me ! Okay my computer revolves around music! I use it 90% of the time strictly music! I am having a major problem and taking it to best buy would be the first thought of many, but $ $ $ $ is tight at the moment.

Okay...my itunes works ok it lets me add music listen to music play music fine. Okay about a week ago It stopped reading my ipod. I would plug in the ipod and the i tunes would not read it.

It would simply charge it...I tried every troubleshooting top possible ! ! ! I got the latest version of itunes all this went the whole 9 yards and can't fix it....

i was thinking ok maybe it's just my ipod since it's old....well I plugged my cousins ipod in nope still didn't read it....

So i was thinking maybe it just isn't readint ipods correctly...well NOW it stopped burning cds...it begins to burn songs on the cd but does not finish burning the CD.

And it ruins my blank cd it starts to burn a song but dont complete the burn so it ruins the blank cd.

I ran my computer for viruses i have spy sweeper I have HP total care provider all my health checks say i'm virus free but nope my computer just wont read ipod or burn cds! ! ! !

Also tried burning cd with widows media it still wont work !Also i noticed one other odd thing...my MUTE button on my laptop no longer works.....

can anyone pleassse help!??

THANKS !!!

you are using a usb cable to connect your ipod right? do you have more than one port? if so try a different post. As for your cd burner, can you burn other things like files or pictures or are you only unable to burn music? try burning a cd with pictures on it, if that bombs out than you might just need to get a new drive.

That's why I don't like iPod. It's because it needs iTune.

Anyways, your problem has nothing to do with virus or spyware at all.

I think this is down to digital rights management, in other words, If you have music on your pc which is not been purchased, it will not play. Seems to be the latest version of the i tunes software which causes this. I would recomend you uninstall itune software, restart, then install the original version of the software from your supplied disk. This worked for me, good luck!
