In 1994 an encounter occurred at the Nellis Air Force Base with an unidentified flying object. A copy of the footage was smuggled out, and the program "Sightings" aired the footage with some commentary in 1997.
The images were shot on a range that is in restricted air space near Nellis AFB. The tracking cameras got a radar lock on an object that was traveling away from the camera initially, then abruptly changed course when the object detected that it was being tracked. The object appeared to be curious about what was tracking it and came in for a better view. This video was enhanced and viewed by several photo imaging experts, on camera , and they seemed to be baffled about it`s origin and properties.

Hmmmmm?
REBEL
hmm....whats was all that noise distortion ?
I know its very old footage but are they always out of focus...hmm not enough to convince me...

Thats really bad footage considering it was 1994. I have seen better footage come from gun cameras during the first Gulf War.

The TV show Hard Copy blink.gif did a report on that sighting which can be seen here:

Apart from the weird effects of that bright light source that the camera spends a lot of time looking at, there's not really much to this video except hype.
I can't help but think the UFO looks and behaves a little like a bug or a moth (anyone remember the gas station blue ghost that made the nightly news awhile back?).
leehomer
it looks like spmeone sneexed on the lenz. then again you never know
DONTEATUS

The numbers in the upper right corner of the screen indicate the 'moth' is 9135 meters away:

The US military may have some amazing cameras wub.gif but I don't think photographing a moth at 9000 metres is one of their capabilities.whistling2.gif
Stellar
Looks like the lunar capsul reentering the Earth, or something of the type. The big ball things being the parachutes...

Its not an alien space saucer I know that, but Im confused as to wether its a moth or a bird or a fake?
SkylarYoung
Whatever it is, it seems to have those air force controllers concerned. There a copy of that shown on Hard Copy that has slightly better footage.

I'm going with moth foreground (timestamp being 11:22pm), goodness knows what at 9km away. According to the expert hard copy wheeled out, it must have a fairly large radar cross section. If you watch the hard copy report, you'll see a couple of black dots in the right side of first video (9-13) look left and very closely at the bright light that seems to dominate the centre of the video (the joys of IR cameras), you'll see white dot in the lower portion of that light. Eventually it scoots right across the 'screen' and vanishes at the point imediately below the lowest black dot.

Seems to have wings....

there is only one logical explanation - its a dragon tongue.gif

LOL. A dragon it is then wink2.gif Speaking of which, I heard a rumour that if you look into a mirror at midnight, close your eyes, and say his name three times, then open them, you'll see him standing behind you in the reflection. The shock of this will give you permanent brain damage devil.gif

Back on to the video, it's amusing to see investigative journalists at work, isn't it. Personally that first video they showed has more of a 'what is it factor?' factor for me, than the 2nd one.

(which seems to be the camera operator chasing a bug round the screen while the radar is pinging something else. There you go, irrefutable proof lost because some poor schmuck, who was up past his bedtime, got exited by the on camera antics of an insect...)

Pretty freaky, Looks like nightshot film on a bad camera, like on a missile launcher thing.
SkylarYoung
Its a FLIR camera that most modern air forces us for tracking objects in the sky.

That thing is no insect! You need your head examined if you think it is... I think it's US Air-Force.

Note the similarities between the Nellis UFO and the UFO that appeared over Brazil.
