I find it rather absurd that almost every time that the investigators leave the house (or place of interest) it seems that the ghost/entity/apparition/et cetera has vanished. Now to me that seems very far-fetched and it annoys me greatly. What is your thoughts on this?

I agree, the show sucks. Why post this thread in Cryptozoology?

It was meant for the other thread (you know, the one about Ghosts?), but I accidentally posted it here.
Please move. Thank you.

I was referring to a moderator. But thank you, enjoy the show, I will be checking out that and Destination Truth.

I don't trust any of the paranormal "hunting" shows that they allow on television, because the media is censored. There's no way those in power would let definitive, actual proof of this type of thing be shown to the public over the airwaves.
Also, is it just me who gets pissed when these "hunters" jump at every sound and run away from apparitions?

I tend to disagree. I believe that PS resolves the problems unlike other haunting shows. I have seen them bless a home, cleanse, and even perform a religious funeral so that those stuck, can move on and rest in peace. It really isnt that hard to rid a place of human spirits, its done every day. I find the team does a great job researching, then talking to other witnesses, and taking control and doing what must be done for the family regardless of the type of haunting. JN

Anyone who watches their podunk show can see them "bless a home, cleanse, blah blah" Their research lacks depth and their procedures can't measure to a mouse fart in the wind. It is all psychological. Someone is having an occurance, you go in do your voodoo blessings, they feel better and wahlaa...."This house is clear". Power of Suggestion at its best.

What people tend to forget here is that its on television. How do we know 100% for sure what is the truth, facts and what isn't acting or make believe to boost ratings?
I for one am 50/50 on half of these shows. Most of it is scripted by the producers. People forget that. A lot is edited out. They have to cram in hours of investigating into 60 minutes worth of video which is extremely hard to do. I'm not trying to bash groups on t.v. when I post my opinion about PRS or TAPS. I actually hope that these shows succeed because it gives more hope to other groups at getting a shot on possibly getting another paranormal t.v. show. IN MY OWN OPINION PRS is just inexperienced. Every little thing is paranormal to them. They do not try and disprove or re-create like TAPS do. I didn't like the episode where they considered a hand print on a wall paranormal evidence when anyone could of done that. Everything to them is paranormal and they don't consider natural, logical, or scientific reasons.

I think GHI, TAPS, MH and Paranormal State are for entertainment purposes for the most part. For example, I watched TAPS last night, and not only did they fail to find anything, but high five each other on debunking. It was extremely boring. Now, they have "personal experiences" but that cannot be proven, so why cant the client have the same experiences and be believed? I think its up to them to spend more time in a home, speaking to spirits, (Steve is good at it) and less time walking around going "1.0 2.3" and they find a cold spot but by the time they do, they missed it. The little 4 year old girl KNEW the spirits names etc. That poor little thing wouldnt even go upstairs. If I were them I would have left a Video Recorder in her room another night or two. Then we have Paranormal State. They are a group of young people, just starting out, but I find their researching pretty impressive, whether it be the old home owner or a witness to something. I think the difference is, PS believes accounts, and if they dont find anything, they bless the house anyway. During these shows, the ONE main aspect is to help and comfort the family, NOT go in telling them they are there to disprove their claims. I watch them all, dont get me wrong, but PS seems more interesting and they spend time WITH the family and allow the family to empower themselves against what they cant see, and that alone just might do it. GHI is not great in my opinion. Donna who I love, always feels scared, and someone touches her, or targets her. Brian has yet NOT to see a shadow person, no one else ever sees, and the most annoying person Ive ever seen. Shannon has the personality of a gnat, and I am so not impressed with her either. Robb is nice, and knowledgable but he is a clone of Jay, and says the same things. I do happen to enjoy the British guy, and right now cannot remember his name. He seems to know what to do, and what to say. Most Haunted team swears, screams and run away, usually. They are all different, thats the bottom line IMO..I prefer A Haunting over all of them and I look at them all as nothing but entertainment, except A Haunting are true accounts..JN

you guys seem to be missing something. it's a tv show, when was the last time you saw anything on tv true? beside of learning channels which a lot of people don't watch. thinking that tv would show the truth is like thinking your baby is a chicken. tv is for entertainment not for truth.

What people FAIL to realize is that investigations ARE BORING. I mean 7-8 hours at a location and barely anything happens if at all. Yeah its for entertainment but shows like TAPS shows how an investigation goes NO MATTER WHAT. You don't always get evidence and thats what they want to show.
No wonder some people like Paranormal State, you are looking for stuff to happen and on Paranormal State IT DOES. Quite frequently, too much infact. INEXPERIENCED is putting it nicely btw. Their knowledge is obviously implemented and not learned.
What is the point of going into a location believing claims put forth? You go in believing the claims you are going to find something paranormal. THINK!
Please for the love of God define good research because I have seen better research in a 1st grade science class.
Also blessing a house regardless if they find anything or not? What do you think that says about that? Is it helping the family? Not because they have a spirit or something in their house, but because it makes them assume that with the blessing everything is now infact better. Again, power of suggestion.
IMO, Paranormal State throws a little fear in the families direction with all their bogus crap.
They can walk into a dollar general store and swear up and down that a 5 dollar pair of sunglasses is the cause of a demon.

Its sort of a coin toss with these shows in my opinion. Paranormal State tends to hear things, see things and take care of the problem, and TAPS/GHI doesnt have enough evidence to support claims. They are both different sides of the spectrum, too much vs not enough. So I believe to each their own.,,JN
