* Wishful~Thinking *
About 3 years ago when I was 15 or 16, can't really remember, I was asleep in bed when I woke suddenly.
Now if you know me and my dreams then you would know that I don't just wake from dreams with a snap of ones fingers. There's usually something within my dreams that says "Okay, you're dreaming but you have to wake up now."
But on this night I woke suddenly, no warning, no sign, I just woke. I was still very tired and honestly half asleep, but I KNOW I was awake.
I opened my eyes and looked up at my door and saw a man. My door was only open maybe four inches, but I saw him as clear as day. He was tall, maybe 6 feet and a few inches, he was covered by the shadow of night (obviously since it was pitch black.) However the light of the moon coming in through my window made him stand out a bit more... his body was a dirty gray color... he wore a long black coat and dark pants, but I could only see him somewhat clearly from the waist up. He had no hair and his face was somewhat sunken so that he had the face of a skull with skin. Meaning his eyes were like black sink holes, he appeared to have no nose and his mouth was only a thin black strip. I don't remember what I was thinking...to tell you the truth I don't think I was thinking anything at all, but he made me feel protected...but in a sadistic and distubring way.
I watched him for what seemed like forever, though in reality it wouldn't have been any longer then 20 seconds. Finally I just closed my eyes and fell back to sleep immediatly.
When I woke the next morning again I knew that it had been real and that it definitly hadn't been my imagination so what exactly was it?

Now, this was the first and only time I've actually seen him in his physical form, but I have since changed room locations and I'm now downstairs. Since the move into the basement I have heard him on several occasions and I have seen his shadow pass by be many times. Each time I know that it is him because he gives me the same feeling that he gave me the night I saw him.

Strange I know, but I feel like I'm becoming attracted to a shadow man. (that's what I call him because I don't know his name or what he is.) mellow.gif

So yeah, this was the first time that I can ever remember when I saw something unexplainable...and I've been looking for the truth ever since.

I'm going to ask a couple of questions. I promise to not ask too many. laugh.gif

Do you ever dream of your shadow man?
Were his clothes from any time period in particular?
I know you said the feeling of his protection feels like its of a sadistic or disturbing sort. Does he feel like a jealous boyfriend would? <--- Weird question, sorry.

I'm going to assume he was a living human at one point. You could get a pad of paper and jot down names that come to mind when he's in your presence. I don't know if anything would happen, but it would be an interesting experiment to see if you can pick up on his name.
Bella-Angelique
Not good.
Asphodel
Not judging your reply or jumping to any conclusions, Bella-Angelique. You just reminded me and I have to ask: Am I the only person on this forum who doesn't believe in the existence of demons (and angels)? ohmy.gif I know there are others, but so many people jump to demonic conclusions.
I do agree that it might not be good. The sadistic nature of his protective presence does bother me, but since it doesn't bother *wishful~thinking* I didn't see a point in dwelling on it. I guess I'm just reckless? Probably. I ought to put a disclaimer in my signature, warning about my advice. laugh.gif
Bella-Angelique
Mental illness is always a possibility also. Either way, demon or illness, with a face like that its best to be going for a solution to get rid of it I suspect.

It's all good. original.gif I enjoy questions very much actually happy.gif

I don't believe I've ever dreamed of him actually, I only see him or hear him when I'm awake.
No, his clothes weren't from any particular time period...though it was seemed like it might have been a worn down trench coat. (like he'd used it alot or rolled around in the dirt a few times tongue.gif)
MMmmm...no, it doesn't feel like a jealousy kinda way... it's more like...I feel he's a bad spirit but he only intends to help me....or influence me... I'm not really sure which one it is yet.

I must admit though, I haven't seen him or heard him recently...maybe for a month or two now. However I did get this other feeling the other night...I'll probly write about it later...but the feeling that came over me that night wasn't anything like I've felt with him before...it was far more powerful.

I would love to know who he is and what his name is original.gif I might jsut try what you suggested, though I think that I'm content with calling him shadow man right now...hehe it's grown on me. xP

I'm curious as to which you think it might be?
I don't deny at all that I made need some mental help...in fact I've said it many times before, I just don't have the courage to do anything about it. But then again because I'm a believer in spirits among other things I am usually very torn between what it could be.

I'm not to sure if it was a demon, but I know that he is definitly a negative entity...but still I seem to like him...>.>

That's good, because I tend to ask many. laugh.gif

Do you feel that he is a human entity, or something different? If he is a human entity, in your opinion, do you think he is linked to anything material, you somehow, or the land? Also, was the recent feeling powerful negatively or positively? I can't wait until you write about it!

There has been some activity recently in my home. It's happened off and on for years, but it has increased lately. I'm not the only one experiencing it, so its not in my head. I know it isn't anyone who was family or friend. I have an idea of who he is and in a way he is mine. It's interesting. At this point I'm very sure he is the civil war soldier I have communicated with. I feel unusually comfortable with him around, but he is kind. I lost my notes so I can't remember his details, but I remember that his first name is Henry. He contacted me years ago but nothing was ever solved, so he is my best guess. It just feels like him.

I'm not sure. I don't think he's a human entity, but I could be wrong. And I dont' think he's linked to anything either since he just randomly showed up without any small signs and whatnot.

The recent feeling was both. I think I might write about it right now... I just hope my computer doesn't act up before I finish it :S

That's eerie. I really hope it isn't something bad. If your gut tells you it isn't human, follow that instinct just in case. Do you want him to show up again?

I'm overly curious and not experienced with anything that is inhuman, so I'll keep my "you should try..."s to myself. happy.gif I've only experienced something inhuman once and it felt horrifying. I think it was attached to the land, native and ancient. My sister and I both agreed on that. I can't remember how my neighbors calmed it. It can still be felt, but it is fairly dormant from what I've heard.

Again, I'm not sure happy.gif I mean, when he makes his presence known I usually just grin and greet him and leave it at that. But when he's not here I don't think of him.

And I'm sure I wouldn't mind your "You should try's" tongue.gif I'm very open to everything and everyone.
I hold no bias towards those who haven't experienced things that I have. original.gif

I just don't want to tell you to try something that might make a possibly bad situation worse. At least now you have my warning. I just hope it is human. It doesn't seem too awful to me. I do think his appearance would have made me pee myself, though. laugh.gif

No, my shadow man seems to come at random times. Usually at night...I believe saw his shadow once in the daytime in my dining room when I was on the computer, but other then that I've only seen him at random night times.

I must depart for bed now tongue.gif But I shall definitly keep up on our conversation tomorrow. original.gif

Wow. May I ask you to describe your experience with yours? How did he make you feel? How often did you see him?

How does one "pick up" said Diablo?

ohmy.gif
AeonsOld
Heck if I know. Look it up i don't know that much about them except basically a name for or type of demonic thing in the southwest. He did some bad things out there and it attached and followed him.

I lived upstairs in winter and downstairs in summer b/c the furnace at the bottom of stairs... 1920s townhouse conversion. We never had a presence; I made sure. I could at least sense them by then and really did not want to deal with anything; not capable. OK... so he is out working nights... I went across the hall to pickup my NEW baby (miracle baby I was told I could never have kids) and I look down the stairs to see the black man walking into my mans office...

Holy Toledo... if I could draw it I would. solid black boots, long coat, flat wide brimmed hat. Spooked me good. I felt him but he did not even do anything towards me. Does that make sense?

I was scared for my baby. I finally told my guy about it. Fraid he would think me nuts. He didn't.

Every time we drove around together this black dog would appear in the road - I slammed the brakes, look up and no dog. "Did you see that?" I'd ask. "what?" he'd say. He believed me but did not admit to seeing anything.

At home when I'd see it - a black man would glide in and wait for him. Never bothered me or the baby but I did not go in that room. Outside the weird black dog.

Near the end... he did not straighten out and we broke up over a few months of trying. He finally admitted he was screwed up and about the Diablo. I won't say what he did or how - it's personal confession and a cardinal sin so to speak. But he agreed he needed to leave and either go to hell or get right.

The end... it took 15 years and he is finally a super person and has made amends. Sometimes it is a long road. I'm still working on it meself.

It can always be better... BUT -- it can always be worse. Never stop trying - never give up.

Wow, this sounds exactly like an experience I had, but with a lady in a blue nightgown. Same random waking, same murky details, same kind of weird reaction (not screaming and turning on the lights and freaking out). That face also sounds EXACTLY like the lady I saw at the end of my bed, only hers was like... a brownish color.. This has caused me to become afraid of the dark and sleep with a nightlight on. =O

So I think you're in the same sitch as me. You thought you saw something, and you saw it clear as day, and now you're oversensitive and misinterpreting sounds and such, especially in the dark. =) I will honestly have to see a transparent person in broad daylight in the middle of nowhere talking to me before I even start to think of maybe believing in ghosts, despite what I've seen and how it affected me. ;P Demonic/ghosty things should be the last thing you look to, after Bigfoot and the Zodiac killer.

Edit: PS, here's my thread: http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum...=108624&hl= Keep in mind that you'll get biased responses on here due to the nature of the website. No matter how real it felt, there is always a scientific explanation that doesn't involve spirits or demons or anything, so don't assume. ;P

Edit 2: "Diablo" simply means "devil".

Nope. original.gif Well, to qualify that, I believe in spirits and entities that have a range of purposes from protective/good, down to harmful/bad, but I don't believe that they are 'angels' or 'demons' - I think that's man's mythological way of explaining something not fully understood. You know, drawing upon historical/mass culture to rationalise something.

In regard to this thread - the initial report creeped me out. It sounds distinctly non-human - even making me think of the reports of alien 'greys'. They have sometimes been reported to appear (or be perceived) as other figures/animals that have large eyes, no nose and slit mouths.

Just a thought.

OMG just reading what you wrote gave me shivers..... I lived in an old appartment with my parents and little sister, when my brother would come and visit he would sleep on my floor.... one night I woke up and there standing in my doorway looking down at me.... was this... this lady thing.... she was wearing a night gown and her hair was pulled up at the sides.... she had her head tilted and was just staring.... it was creepy..... I tried to wake my brother and he remembers hearing the fear in my voice and seeing light, but refusing to look. The next morning we told my Mother and she said that some times she saw her standing at the foot of my bed. After that I moved out of the roomn and we used it for storage... every time I had to pass it I ran.... it was so scary. Other wierd thing happened there, and ever since, no matter where I live I'm always " jumping " from the shadows... or running if chased up basement stairs.... That creeped me out for life

Supernatural??
Shadow people, i can say i've seen a few but i'll post those stories later. Thank you for sharing your story and also you mentioned a certain attraction to the man, while it doesn't fit the classical definition of Incu/succubi, perhaps that is what it i was who knows i'm sure they've changed a bit from how they were first described maybe this one prefers a slow seduction of some sort. But i'm no expert on sexual demons but who is. (and actually anyone who is please contact me, i have a great interest in demonology and malevolent spirits regardless of their actual existence or not, i'm very much and amateur so any and all info appreciated) Although if it is a shadow person it is likely impossible to be rid of him, from my understanding they tend to plague the people who see them forever, some theories suggest that they are people from a paralleled dimension next to ours and they find us fascinating to observe for one reason or another, i hope it's something more harmless like that then malign.
