Not to frighten anyone, but if you see that this is even remotely possible, you may wish to get yourself prepared ahead of time.

I sure will.

Good times...

Sorry but we've been through depressions before and while sad and awful, they don't go hand in hand with the second coming (which I don't believe in anyway). At the bottom of the link is a page referring to the rapture. Which begs the question if all the christians get taken up to be with god they'll be plenty of food, fuel and anything else I need so solves that problem.

Like I've said before this is crap for those people who can't handle living & want to die.

I don't think it is too much of a stretch to say that certain factions of the christian belief are what I would consider a doomsday death cult. They just seem to revel in the idea that all hell's going to break loose and the AntiChrist is going to chase them around trying to kill them and then Jesus will come and save them and they'll all live happily in heaven when they are dead. This link seems to be on par with that...

I agree, it's disturbing people feel they must think this way.

When Jesus takes His people out of here, you won't have much of a chance to get food, everything will be burning on the North American continent.

You can refuse to believe if you wish, but take the warning about preparing for what is ahead. A little food stocked in the pantry is never a bad idea.

You have to make the choice to do all things.

Have a wonderful week!

If everything is burning on the North American continent, as you say, what good will food in the pantry do?

at least you ended on a positive note. haha

there is enough food in our distribution centers and warehouses to float us for a little while. if everyone cuts back it will go further. the good news is that that leather wallet that will be empty soon is a good source of protein in an emergency.

What is going to cause the famine is our continual culling of the animals because of the threat of disease, the continual desire to raise the level of knowledge by artificial devices, and dumping those devices on children in third world countries when they wear out.
So, technolgy is causing the famine. Science is causing the famine. The wants and desires of the people in developed countries cause the famine. There is no way around it. We're cutting the trees and slowly sacrificing the oxygen in the atmosphere. People have become stuck on supermarkets and gas stations. I don't see any change toward individual households growing edible food, it's too much of a chore for a big hungry he-man with a GD gun. What we need is to totally cut off all life supplies to everybody. Then there will be a change to total anarchy and death will come a little quicker.

And Jesus is just too pure to enter this atmosphere!

Oh wow where to begin. Ok lets start with food. There is plenty of food. In fact four pounds of food per person is produced every day (thats enough for the six plus BILLION I'm talking here), the only reason anyone dies of starvation is distrobution issues and access. Those problems are mostly political in nature and don't have so much do with actual quantity. The carbon dioxide we produce while harmful to some parts of the environment actually FEEDS plants, not hurt them. Science isn't the root of problems, human nature is. Science is only a tool and depending on if it is used by people who know to use it vs. those who don't. Culling of animals due to disease? Not sure what you mean by that, there are millions of head of cattle, countless numbers of hogs, and chickens around the world, so again not sure what the issue is there, in causing famine. Cutting off all "life supplies" as you call it would only trigger the very thing you warn about, but as I said I think there are some factions who WANT everything to go to hell in a handbasket so they can meet god a little faster, AKA doomsday cult.

I have my little container garden planted and I am all ready eating salad out of it. My cat is good a catching rabbits and is always willing to share. One of my friends is starting a chicken coop and has promised me eggs for veggies from my garden. I am not in to bad of shape. Living in a hurricane zone I am getting ready to stock up on my hurricane supples. I am not really worried about it.

That was actually kind of funny. Well done you cheeky monkey! thumbsup.gif

More rapture stuff. I think even the Christians need to remember, that no one will know when the "rapture" will occur according to their own source (the Bible) and false prophets are bad Mojo, period.

Well, they're going to be waiting for a long time...because I have much better things to do with my time. devil.gif

...

As for the original post:

That site is typical Fundie bull***t.As usual,it wants you to buy some con-man's books.Sorry...but this old dog isn't believing any of it.

...

As for a food shortage:

It doesn't take much room to grow a small garden that contains at least several good vegetables.Herbs can be grown in small containers inside a house or apartment as long as there is a decent amount of sunlight. If you're really good at growing things, you could even grow the veggies inside the home...just by using large pots with drain bases. As long as you're not subjecting the plant(s) to things that are harmful, the plants will grow.Just use a spray bottle to get some slightly warm water onto the leaves, and mix in a little bit of Miracle-Gro into the water that you put into the soil.Other than that...just make sure the plants get the right amount of sunshine...and rotate the plant so that all sides get even amounts of light (if you don't,the plant will grow out leaning in one direction).

I doubt that I'd end up starving because of a food shortage. Not only do I know how to grow plants indoors and out,but I also know how to trap small game such as squirrel and rabbit...and both are good eating. yes.gif Luckily, there are also deer in the park nearby,as well as ducks and geese...and I know how to hunt and cook.So while those that are too dependant upon the modern conveniences, like fast food and grocery stores, are starving...I'll be eating well. original.gif

I believe you will find your answer in Revelations.
