She opened the window as it started to rain
It's falling like a soft curtain of mist
Encompassing the night with it's soft embrace
She held her hand in the windowpane

The night was slowly descending
Last shades of indigo was disappearing
Covering the sky with navy blue
Adorned by a crescent moon hung low near the horizon

The sound of the rain was strangely trancelike
The sound was nearly pleasing to her ear
It was nearly pleasing to the her hungry soul
She's never observed the rain this way before

She have always avoided it for some reason
It held her unpleasant and bitter memories
It felt odd watching the rain right now
Just sitting there, she never knew how

His name left a dull ache in her heart
She smiled musingly with her head titled by the window
She hated carrying this burden all by herself
However, she cannot bear seeing him tomorrow

He somehow resembled the rain a little
It'll come quietly, create a storm,
then without a word, it left again
It would leave a trace of it's scent
And form little puddles on the ground
But the scent would fade and the puddles would dry
And no evidence of the rain's existence would be left behind

He was as ephemeral as the rain
She kept her eyes focused on the non-existent distance
Not knowing where he is in this human realm
Not knowing if he still remembered her existence

Each time she says his name
There was a nearly undetectable tremble in her voice
For a split-second, she lowers her gaze
Hiding the sadness that lingers in her eyelids

Watching her window, she realized she was tired
Emotionally she was ready to fall apart
She wanted to believe she could forget, but she could not
It was ruthlessly cruel

She wondered; how am I supposed to give up?
'Does one just decides and chooses to move on? '
She sat on her bed and reached her knees up
'Including the pain in one's heart? '

Disappearing without a trace like the rain
Another sleepless night
Another unforgotten memory
Another endless desire
