I was thinking this would be the best place to put this question.About 15 year ago,a friend showed me a neat trick.Somehow no one who attended that day remember how it was done anymore.I got to think about this some time ago, when discussing different strange phenomenas with my 13year old son.I would really like to try this out again, and show it to him.I can recall just some of it:

A person sat on a chair. Then to people was standing at each side, putting one indexfinger on one arm under the side front of the chair, and the other index finger under the side back at the chair.(did that make sense?my english is not good)But all in all there would be one index finger at every corner of the chair.I`m also not sure if it was actually under the chair,or on the person itself(like one finger under the knee..)Lifting only the person, not the chair.just can`t recall that..

Anyway, there was no way it was possible to lift the person just like that with only 4 fingers how much we tried.A ritual was needed! All i remember of that procedure was some words had to be spoken, and then one of the 2 people(lifting)had to hold a hand over the seated persons head. Then the person on the other side had to put his hand over his again and vice versa. This was done in a specific number and while counting(maybe to 10)

The finger were then placed, and we then lifted the person with ease of the chair. It was a very strange feeling.Almost like lifting only air.As far as i know this worked. We even lifted a person weighing over 150kg this way.I have no explanation how it worked or why,but it did.My friend back then showed this in a physic class at school, and the whole class including the teacher were lifting each other the whole class hour. The teacher had no clue how to explain it.
I have tried to recreate it,with no luck.I remember though the ritual/procedure had to be exact for it to work.
Anyone out there been trying this, and have the procedure?

Regards.

I have seen this trick on telly not long ago.It was a show called" the next Uri Geller".The words they used were achat ,staim, shallosh. It seems to be jewish.
Apart from that, they did exactly the same thing You talked about in Your post. You mind find something about it on You Tube...?

omg, me and my friends tried this the other night, failed to work though hmm.gif Its to do with diamagnetism, here's how to do it :
1. have 5 people and a chair ready, willing and able to help u levitate.
2. sit the person in the chair
3.sit the chair in a westerly direction.
4. stand the other 4 people round the chair, 2 by the shoulders and 2 by the knees
5. persons round the chair place two fingers on either shoulder and the other 2 people place two fingers under the armpit original.gif
6. if this doesnt work place your hands on top of the persons head and lightly press down ( hands not touching) count to ten then quickly take ure hands of and place them under the persons chair.
hope it works for u.

The trick here is the bit about 'pressing down lightly'...

If you press down on something for a while, then your arm will have a natural tendency to float upwards when you stop. (similar to releasing a heavy weight). The ability to lift the person up is tied in with this somehow.

I've done that before about 2 years ago. I don't think it has something to do with the "ritual"

You brought back some memories I did this when I was in early teens and it worked then just cant explain it, I will be watching to see if anyone else does.

Myself and a friend journeyed to see a girl I had met in New York. She lived up in the mountains. We discovered after our arrival that her mother was a black arts practitioner. While my girlfriend was in the shower, this rather large woman sat in a plain kitchen chair and told us tolayer our hands on top of her head without touching them or her head, and think intently how light she was. She also would concentrate on how light she was. So with our eyes closed, we all concentrated very hard for almost a minute. She then quietly said "ok" and we each put two fingers under her elbow and two fingers under her thigh...and lifted. Up she went, almost 4 or 5 feet above the floor, as far as our arms would reach without stretching. She held there for just a moment and we lowered her immediately as she grew heavy again.

We were only teenagers, but I remember it to this day. It was a strange and surprising experience. I believe it is mind over matter. She grew heavy again, because in our surprise that she levitated so high, we lost our concentration. Hence, down she came. Very interesting to say the least. ~Jackal
