Does anyone remember when a piece of string could bring hours of fun?
There were numerous games and figures you could make by manipulating a circle of thread with your fingers (and teeth, at times).

Recently, I rediscovered this lost art, and dove back in, the nostalgia helping the old feelings of awe and surprise resurface; I was like a child once more.

But one thing was wrong. There was this one "game" or story you could tell with the string. It was called 'The Salmon River.' It's numerous different designs, that go from one to the next, telling a short story as it goes along. It involves mountains, a river, a fisherman in a boat, and more, ultimately ending with the casting of a line and hooking of the fish.

But no matter how hard I searched, I couldn't find a description of the instructions anywhere online.

So I have a favor to ask. Does anyone know where I can find an online step-by-step guide to this maneuver?

I've found a few different sites that have other games and string figures, but none of them have 'The Salmon River.'

I would be forever grateful.
