I was bored out of my head a few days ago & went & visited this one website.

Someone asked a question about the occult. The question was as follows.

Do you like the occult & Witchcraft?

Why is it that people who do not know anything about this topic go off on how evil it is?

Do people always blindly believe what others tells them to believe? This really bugs me that some people can be so stupid about what they do not know!

I don't expect a response to this I'm just ranting here.....

Well to be honest Norwood before UM I thought the same thing I had no idea there was a difference. Maybe its just ignorance as in they simply don't know.
I don't agree with some beliefs here but I have learned alot that I would not have known.
There are so many beliefs that some just choose to know their own and thats it, I was reluctant to learn about other beliefs because I thought I was disrespecting my own somehow. The people here helped me see otherwise so maybe they just need to come to UM tongue.gif

to be honest its not really one of my interests but latley ive been thinking about it slightly, so im assuming there is a difference between occult and witchcraft? hmm i always thought they were aspects of the same thing - magic, or are they? wacko.gif i suppose i need to do some reading on the topic

The Occult and Witchcraft are totally 2 different believes. There is wicca new age witchcraft. Most of the witchcraft today is wiccan or white witchcraft. They believe in doing no evil. There are some black covens out there but hard to find.

The Occult not going to talk about that. Reveals to much of my pass

Te definition of the word occult means to cover up or hidden. Thats it there is nothing dark about the word...so I'm not sure where your getting this from...

To cover in darkness to stand in the shadows.

When I visited the Witchcraft museum in Boscastle, Cornwall (great place if you're ever in the area), half a floor was taken over with satanism and the occult. I'm not a religious person, but it felt really wrong and, well, bad. There was an area on popetts which was fascinating and showed many actual popetts and their history, the popetts were made to harm people.

I'm not explaining myself well here at all and I'm trying really hard not to generalise, but there just seems to be a dark side to it (not all witches I know) but there is an underlying vibe of witchcraft can be a positive thing but, if I want to "... I can harm you". It's naive not to acknowledge that this part of witchcraft doesn't exist, it does I'm sure.

yup, been practicing it for a while
Why is it that people who do not know anything about this topic go off on how evil it is?
because they're ignorant and fear what they dont understand
