I've just stumbled across this Youtube link for Strange but True, the old Michael Aspel show back in the 80's (though actually I think it was 90's).

This show was just fab.

I guess this is more like 90s, mid 90's... the image quality is just too good for 80's television! This actually looks great, compelling television. It's a bit more fast paced than what I usually enjoy, but because of this it might have appealed to a larger audience.

I remember the Strange but True series. Great viewing, and Michael Aspel's style and voice increased the interest. Just wish there were more programmes like this on TV.

LOL this programme was great. my dad blamed this programme for his huge electricity bills coz i used to have to have every light in the house on after watching rolleyes.gif . thanks for sharing.

There was another ITV program around the same time that probably nobody remembers, as it was specific to the Meridian region. I can't remember the name, but it was presented by Toyah Wilcox and bearded shouter Brian Blessed. I can't even google anything up, so presumably the whole thing was some sort of flu-dream.

That does ring a bell, not a big one, but it's a familiar memory... I'm curious now.
