Hey guys!
This is my first post btw! Have been lurking around for a year or so & finally decided to post tongue.gif

Anyway!
I'm mainly talking to U.K residences here, but if anyone knows what i'm talking about then great!
Does anyone remember a documentary that was shown on channel 4, I think it was in late 2006, about a girl in the U.K who claimed to be possessed?
They had audio clips of her and she was doing the voice of an old man and there were pictures of her jumping around her bedroom.
I'd like to know her name & more info cause I really can't remember too much about it!

Ring any bells?

Actually nevermind! I just found it on 4OD for free!
It was called Interview with a Poltergeist. It was about a girl called Janet Hodgson who apparantly became possessed by a poltergeist known as the Enfield Poltergeist.

Check it out if you have 4OD it's an interesting watch, even if it was faked!

I think you need to look up the definition of 'poltergeist'. Dictionary.com, Merriam-Webster Dictionary, Wikipedia

Hey I'm new to this forum as well, nice to meet you Infinity. Hope this doesn't go too far off topic, but I read an amazing book about possession and exorcisms called "Hostage to the Devil by Malachi Martin", I highly recommend that, just don't plan on sleeping that well while reading it if you decide to. wink2.gif
Clovis
He Came To Set The Captives Free by Rebecca Brown is also a good book.

I read Malachi Martin's book with an open mind, and as a background growing up Catholic, it didn't impress me as anything more than he's using religion to treat mental illness, with a possible hoaxster or two thrown in.
(remember, its good business for the Catholic Church to scare their flock back into church.)

M.Scott Peck, MD, who used to write inspirational books has a couple of books also on his treating possessed patients, again... I wasn't impressed that anything supernatural was responsible. Malachi Martin has a few guest appearances in Peck's books, as a consultant.

I checked out the youtube link, there are nine pages or more of stories, do you have the specific youtube video of the possessed girl?

emily rose

Emily Rose wasn't a real person, but a fictional person based on a German girl supposedly possessed and died during the exorcism. The Catholic Church subsequently revised it's position and said she wasn't possessed after all, but mentally ill.
See the wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annelise_Michel

And speaking of German, the word "poltergeist" means "noisy ghost", poltern means noisy, geist means ghost.

Yes I saw this. The Enfield Poltergiest was a fascinating case. There were many witnesses to the phenomenon that Janet and her family had in their home, it's a very compelling story. She seems like a nervous wreck even now.

The only thing that bothered me about this and I've mentioned it on this site a few times, was that even though activity was a day to day thing, The Daily Mirror were involved and documented the events - why did no one take a video camera in there and tape something? I know it was the 70's but surely capturing such ghost activity would pay off big time if they caught something?
