hey all, was just wondering on that episode when michael talks to his mom, she says u were supposed to be dead, everyone on that flgith was dead...."so where were u for 2 months"...does the whole world think that the people on that plane were dead.. and they dont believe the survivors.. im confused about that.

Mr Widmore planted a false plane in the ocean using dug up corpses from some country - I forgot which country - which is too deep to bring up the corpses, which is why everyone thinks they're dead. Meaning Mr Widmore now has nobody else looking for the passengers, and so no one but Ben will get in his was to gain control of the island.

it had been two months since the plane had crashed and a story had reached the world that ocianic flight 815 had crashed into the ocean and that they had found the passengers bodys. as Chokmah said these were planted by charles whitmore _ penelopy's (desmonds girlfriend) dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to add, Michael is not one of the Oceanic Six. No one knows he is a survivor of Oceanic 815, except his mother, and he refuses to tell his mother anything about what happened to him for the two months he was missing. The world itself has been told everyone on the flight are dead, so there is obvious unease about the six survivors, who are also apparently trying to keep the existance of the rest of the survivors a secret, as shown when Sun cries at Jins fake tombstone that has the date of the crash on it.
