I love that you started this thread.
I sometimes wonder at this too. Reading about the Bara-Hack settlement in NorthEast Connecticut, brings up these thoughts the most. The experiences I read about this place, is that people sometimes hear the sounds of life in the past going on. Like hearing the sounds of children playing, and wagons going by, and mothers calling out to their kids. I read in various sites, that the name given to that area of land was an Native American name that means stuck in time, portal to another time, or something close to that.
I also remembering an article in a magazine sometime ago, about an area that shows paranormal images and sounds of a bus accident and the bus driver rescueing the kids from that accident, that happened to have the bus crash into a river or lake. I remember reading that the thoughts on the accident is that everyone involved survived, and what is playing over and over is the emotions as spectral ghosts. It just might be, that particular time is probably leaking through and being shown to the present. I think it's a fascinating thought.
