I dont know if this is a stupid question or not. So I am sorry if it is.

Is it possible for a ghost to haunt a person? not a place?

Okay, when I was a child I remember living in this house for about 7 years. The main thing I remember about this house was at times being scared to death of my own bedroom. I didn't felt safe in it at all and I had terrible dreams. However, I moved then and i didn't give it much thought until I started having the same feelings about 3 years into the new home. I would be afraid of certain rooms for no reason and as I got older I realized these were not rational feelings.

I have continued having nightmares that people tell me they could not handle. I have felt things tugging at my legs and seen gruesome creatures and people standing around my house. They are very vivid dreams. I know that it could just be me and it could be my mind. However I have these most frequently when I am at my house. When I spend the night at my boyfriends or at a relatives house, I sleep soundly. However when I return to my own bed they start again.

My family has never mentioned anything similar to that but my cats will often times just stare into space and we cant figure out why. Like they are looking at something or hunting something (like a cat watches a fly on the wall).

Well one day I was sifting through some old pictures from my house and I found one of a front view. In this picture you can see my old window and in the very corner, yes this could be my eyes or something else, you can see a face. I can see it clear as day. Im not saying at all that I am 100% but others have heard my story and agreed that my old home could very possibly have been haunted.

Anyway, is it possible for a ghost to follow a person? Its just been on my mind quite a bit lately.

The answer IMO is yes, people can be haunted. But normally that means that the person has the ability to see or communicate with spirits, and they are attracted to each other, and make a connection. However I am not sure what dreams have to do with being haunted, unless they are about deceased people? Some of what you experienced could be sleep paralysis and the rest might just be about you..JN

Yes, I think they can follow you from place to place.I have had this happen to me a couple of times.I also think that homes, or objects can draw the same thing.

I strongly disagree ghost are fictitious, your seeing something that aint there. you want to believe strongly in ghost because you are scared to face reality, when we die we die, no afterlife.you will just become dirt. let the dead burry the dead. [size="5"][/size]

I would say yes, it's definately possible but theres always the chance that it's your imagination. I'm not one to say if it's real or not but maybe some severe investigation into it might be in order, especially if it's plagued you for so long.

I am new here,but i have had several haunting experiences,and i see dark apparitions all the time.I do think u are seeing something.Spirits are all around.

yes...spirits can "atttach" themselves to a person or a place....i have seen this before....it can be very difficult sometimes as the spirit can change and become hostile over time as they get stronger or the sphere of influence changes...

Regardless what your beliefs are about ghosts, one thing I know for sure is that they do not cause nightmares. I have been investigating the paranormal for years and have encountered more ghosts in the past years than most people will in a lifetime. I have never seen a case where ghosts caused dreams. You need to go to a doctor, I believe you have some sort of mental condition.

The only thing that can supposedly cause dreams would be demons, but you would have real evidence if that were the case. All you have are paranoid feelings, bad dreams, and suspicion. This has been going on for a long time, and you haven't told a doctor? You might be able to get some medication to stop the dreams.

I agree CP, and also posted a link for SP..Human huntings do not cause nightmares or night terrors, but Demonic hauntings most certainly do!! JN

I personally think Nightmares/dreams are more likely caused by our fear of ghosts or demonics . than by the actual entity itself .

How can any of us say for sure what demons or ghosts can or cant do really . especially when it comes to dreams or nightmares something we are perfectly capable of achieving all by ourselves . ?

I agree and disagree with this statement.I agree that spirts/ or ghosts cannot cause nightmares directly, but if what ever it is that haunts a person scares them enough, then that can indirectly cause bad dreams.So yea, .Just remember though, you the individual has pewer over yourslef, not some ghost.

I don't think that what your describing has a paranormal base, you seem to be experiencing isolation anxiety and should talk about it with a medical professional, you are young and have an over active mind, your imagination is a powerful breeding ground for this type of illusionary experience.

Try not to become isolated, dont hang out exclusivley with friends who have occult or paranormal fixations, absolutley do not take any recreational drugs, do everyday family things, have fun and enjoy life.

There is absolutley nothing following you or living in your house, your cats are just being cats.
