A fossil of a new species of prehistoric crocodile found in Brazil has led scientists to believe the reptile benefited from the extinction of dinosaurs to migrate from across the Atlantic.
That explains why there are crocodile in South America. Well, at least we know how they got there. I want to see a picture now.

there are no crocodiles in south america, ypu refer to "caimán" (guess its alligator, quite different from a croc), anyway I´m not a biologist, so who knows?????

There are crocodiles in South, Central, and North Americas. They are called American Crocodiles.
