Yes I am new to the forum but I have somethings to get off my chest. After listening to the audio book by Stephen Hawking A briefer history of time. I felt inspired to share my stories of my own time travel experiences. I usually don't tell anyone these stories that happened to me, so I wont be called crazy, but here goes anyways.

First off I have to say many times I have felt a slightly more exaggerated of either time going by faster to slower. This is really a common experience for people, and they normally just write it off as just a either losing track of time in the instance of "time flying" or either a long day at work seeming to be drawn out because of not wanting to be there. However both of these things have been happening to me on and off my whole life.
And most of the times that it happens its not always the case. Sometimes I guess you could call me lucky. But sometimes when I am having fun it seems like time is going on forever. Sometimes time seems to be flying by and I can't seem to find enough time in the day to do all the work I need to get done.

Either way I am sure sometimes it can be just written off as one of the more common occurrences. But, keep in mind I am a very strict on myself about keeping track of time just so I am not late for things. I set timers on my phone's alarm to keep me on schedule. Maybe because of my experiences. Either way these instances only touch upon what other more definite experiences I have had.

The first time I was 8 or 9 years old. My family and myself were visiting some friends of the family, and they were putting us up for the night. It was time for bed, and the kids we made to sleep on the floor in sleeping bags. I was one of them. I wasn't ready to sleep, and how could I with all the grown ups running around getting everything and everyone ready to go to bed. So while I waited for things to calm down I watched the activity going on around me.

While i was watching suddenly everything slowed down drastically. Everyone who was speaking were talking in deep voices and everything was in slow motion. This was very scary for me, and no one seemed to notice. I was simply an observer. Maybe because I was being still for some odd reason I was able to see time slow down. This went on for about 5 minutes. Then just as suddenly everyone sped up. Everyone was walking around extremely fast, and talking like chip munks! This made me feel very nauseous. It went on for about 2 or 3 minutes, then finally slowly slowed down to the normal speed. I then spent the rest of the time before falling asleep fighting vomiting. Perhaps some sort of motion type of sickness? I am unsure.

Then the 2nd experience I had was in 2001. My now husband was a truck driver, and we traveled all over the country together while he worked. While we were on a trip we were trying to get a load delivered and the trip was very long. I was, and so was my husband were very anxious to get there. I was constantly staring at the clock on the dashboard, and eagerly reading every road sign that went by trying to find an indication on how many more miles we had to go to get to our destination. I don't remember the exact number of miles it said on the sign or the towns name. But I do remember it was a little over 50 miles we traveled in 3 minutes.

I had just looked at the clock, I then looked out and I saw a sign. I read it thinking OMG 375 miles to X town and thats not even 1/2 way. Time felt like it was dragging by at that moment. Then I was watching the clock the whole time and 3 minutes later we come across another large sign that said 325 miles to X town. I then looked at the clock again because I was thinking OMG this isn't right. Then looked at the sign again as i whizzed by.

Rereading it over and over until we completely passed it. I just remember thinking OMG OMG OMG what just happened? I asked my husband and he agreed to reading the same thing and looking at the clock, because I was announcing the road sign and the time as the signs went by. He has also read the sign and the clock himself. I asked him if he noticed anything strange about it, and he said, yeah, we just went 50 miles in 3 minutes.

We were so shocked we had to pull over at the next rest area to contemplate what had just happened. We were shocked and excited all at the same time to have been able to experience such a rare event.

I swear that everything I am saying is the truth. And I would be happy to take a lie detector test to prove I am not lying. Either way for those who have had similar experiences I hope this helps you to realize, that these things do happen, and you are not alone, and you are not crazy.

Thank you for listening to my story.

I'd like to say.. in referance to the guy claiming to be from the future and can only communicate through the computer and internet. If he is from the future then just take a picture or 2 of things around him that have the date on them like a news paper. Then post the picture on the forum. Also another idea would be to take a picture of the expiration date on a food label.. like steak or peanut butter. And if you can do that go outside and take pictures of random things. Also if you are just a drop out from school, and being able to go back in time on your computer and this is very expencive, then how did you afford to get this if you're just a under educated guy?

the start of your story sounds like that movie "the prestige". you dont do any drugs or anything :s?

As for the first of your experiences, were you sick at the time? I had a similar experience when I was about 7 or 8, people around me would talk, and it would be a few seconds before i'd hear their voices, and they'd be speeded up and very high pitched, or the next time they'd be talking very very slowly so much so that they were impossible to understand. It was caused by an inner ear infection, and really had me freaking out for a while happy.gif .

But their movements are also speeded up and down.

Dear Geeta,
Hi! And Welcome.

I can't really say for sure if I have experienced anything out of the ordinary. I have felt like time flew or was dragging in the past but never really considered it anything out of the ordinary. I just chalked it up to circumstance. IE: If your busy time flies, If you are bored time drags.

In your first experience I can only give my ideas since I'm not you, but here go's.

Is it possible that when you lay down to go to sleep you actually started to slip off to sleep? Is it possible since you were fighting sleep that you were someplace between being awake and asleep, and that caused your perceptions of what was going on around you to seem strange? Maybe the slowing was going on as you were drifting further and further to sleep and at the last second the you fighting sleep made one last attempt to stay awake and this caused the speeding up of things?

I personally have had some strange experiences w/ Night terrors. They happen when one is about to enter the deepest stage of sleep. I don't remember them all but a couple times I woke up during these episodes. Once I sat up in bed and told my BF the apartment was on fire. He told me I was dreaming. I insisted that I was right. I could see, smell and taste the smoke, I could feel the heat. Finally, He got up and walked around w/ me just to prove I was wrong. When we got to the front door and he opened it to the lit landing, It was like "WHAM!" I woke up. The smoke, smells, heat, taste... Were instantly Gone. It was a very disorientating feeling to say the least. I thought I was awake, but I wasn't;Not Fully awake anyway.

As for your second experience:

You say you were reading the signs every step of the way. Is it possible that you misread the sign? I wouldn't think so because according to what you have said, you were reading signs long before and after the sign in question. Did your husband actually see the sign too or did he base his experience totally on the #'s you were calling out? If you actually saw the sign too then I would say that you Both probably didn't misread it. Now let's say you didn't misread it. Did you get to the desired destination on schedule or did you get there 40-50min ahead of schedule? If you were on schedule then I would suspect that someone (probably teens) did something to the sign as a joke. If you got there way ahead of schedule w/o speeding or anything then if I were you I would be thinking "What the H**L!?!". ohmy.gif Just like you have probably been thinking all these years now.
You say you have had some "more definite experiences ". Want to tell us more about them? Were they more like the first incident (occuring just before or after sleep)? Or more like the second (wide awake)?

And who knows? You said you are strict about keeping track of time. If you truly have experienced something extra-ordinary, maybe it is time's way of telling you that you can't really keep track of or control it? Maybe something is trying to tell you to slow down, relax and not worry about time so much?

I hope I helped a little. Either way I'll look forward to hearing more from you! wink2.gif

Take Care,

everything is relative to something else.
otherwise you have no perception.

the world was only slow relative to you. You were faster...
the world was then fast relative to you. You were slower...

It's a very interesting thing to think about.

I have had very similar experiences.

Ok, first of with my first experiance I was not sleeping what so ever, I was not drifting off I remember it to this day because it was so weird. I grew up in an abusive household, so I made it my business to be awake when I was suposed to and to remember everything. I know 100% I was not falling asleep. I was not sick before it happened and I wasn't sick after. The next day I felt fine and it was more like a motion sickness I experianced from things slowing down and speeding up. I didn't have an ear infection. I was very aware. I don't know how else to explain except it was real. You can believe what you want.

The 2nd experiance my husband also saw the sign and noticed. We got there on time, and probably would have gotten there on time if we didn't stop at a rest area for 30-45 minutes trying to understand what happened. I highly doubt teens messed with the sign. The sign was huge and probably weighed about 150-200 pounds. It was along a major interstate. I believe it was I-70. It not only said the miles to one town but to many. "about 5 towns" the sign was about 7 feet long and 6 feet tall and it was about 6 feet off the ground.

I hope this answers your questions. I'll check for more responces to see if I missed any.

Ohh yeah I forgot to add. I am always setting alarms and stuff because I don't want to be late for things. Like picking my kids up from school.

Hmmm, ok. I don't know what to make of the 1st experience then.

I use to live in St. Louis so I am quite familiar w/ I-70. I didn't realize the sign was one of those huge ones. I doubt that they climbed up that high and did any precision work on the sign. laugh.gif Although it wouldn't be physically impossible if they were in something like a tree or utility truck, I doubt they would have time to do something to the sign w/o getting caught on such a busy Interstate.

As far as the 2nd one go's: you said you got there on time. Then you say you probably would've got there on time if you hadn't stopped for 30-45min. So I'm confused.

When I asked if you got there on schedule. It was to see if your travel time would actually physically account that you went 50 miles in 5 min. In other words... If you stopped for 30-45 min and were still on schedule then that would show that you did indeed travel those 50miles in 5 min! If something else were going on and you really didn't cover the distance so quickly, after stopping for 30-45min, you should have been 30-45 min late.

Had your husband ever had this sort of experience before? Or did he experience this simply because he was with you, you think?

I don't know. I just know it happened and its possible. My only hope is that it helps someone understand something about it and learn from it.

Actually it was 3 minutes. And this is the first time anything like that had happened to either of us before. Except when I travel long distances for some reason say I drove to penn state from florida, on the way there it would take me 18 hours but on the way back it always seemed to take 16 hours. But I am unsure if anythign happened. I do have a tendancy of getting somewhere a lot faster than some other people. My husband was actually say something about it this weekend. How I was like in warp speed but still doing the speed limit LOL idk. But this was the only time I had edver noticed. I did have a theory that maybe everyone does little jumps like this but maybe its just a mile here and there. Nothing to really notice. Just a thought.
