i've only had one experience like that.i was about 8 or 9 and my mother bought me a doll.all seemed normal until one night i was playing with it.and the head turned completely around and the eyes blinked.but the superwierd thing is that the head couldn't have possibly moved itself because it was sewed directly to the neck.and the eyes were painted on.i was so freaked out i made my mother give the doll away...

I believe it's possible spooks can be attached to things like that.. (toys, furniture, artwork, etc,)
I had an experience when i was younger with a doll, so yes, i believe it's possible.

Yes, I do believe in possesed toys. My grandma had an Ernie doll that she kept in her room (it was my nephews). Every night she prayed the rosary and every time she did the doll would say "Im sleepy" and it would start snoring. It omly said something when she was praying! After a few times it freaked her out and she threw the doll away.

Ever since I saw Child's Play, the idea of any doll or toy being possessed has seriously freaked me out. A memory that I can remember specifically back in the day was when I was about 6-7. My sister never liked when I would I mess around with her things so she knew that I watched the movie a couple days ago. Well she collected dolls..well porcelain dolls to be exact and she had about mainly 50 of them lol...And she arranged them around her room where every single doll would be staring in the direction of whomever opened the door. Well one night I went into her room, not knowing that she was home and while just messing around, she started throwing the dolls at me from the darkness. I think it ended up going on for about 20 seconds but from how my mom explained it to me, she said I freaked out, started crying and for a full year I wouldn't go in my sisters room. Jokes on her, she got grounded for a week! ha, HA! But seriously the idea of anything like that happening to me well, can't say I wouldn't light the toy on fire

I read a piece in a book talking about power being passed into inanimate objects, possibly ghosts or something doing this as a way of getting into the physical world?

i believe it. i had one weird experience. Not sure if it creeps me out or just weird.
One night few years ago, one of my wind up collectibles started wizzling, rolling its gears in the drawer, just when I was about to go to bed. mind you, I didn't touch it for a very long time. Nobody played with it. Nobody even touched the drawer for a very long time.
That crept me out badly, I hardly sleep. i kept dozing in and out and 2 hours later, neighbors woke us us and we found out the next house was on fire!
it never move again since that night.
I seriously thought that experience was weird.

Are you certain this wasn't a battery-operated Ernie doll with a digital voice-box loaded with potted phrases?

Shortly after my mother in law passed away my son's toy keyboard played by itself one night. When my son walked towards it, it stopped. Then it started again when he moved away. My mother in law wasn't particularly musical so I don't know whether to connect her death to the keyboard playing. Mind you the keyboard didn't sound very musical either!

What does a
haunted toy have to do with myths and legends? The key word here is "haunted." Not Crypto related. So solly.

I had possessed furbies. . .I swear they were. The one didn't even have batteries in it and it started talking one night when I was asleep, and then the other ones (all of them being about five years old with batteries that were very dead cause they had never been changed) piped in and started talking as well. I thought I was mistaken about the one not having batteries, and I got up and checked it (while it was still talking) and sure enough, there weren't any in there. . . They are now safely packed away in boxes in my moms house. . .she said she was cleaning one day and she heard one of them start talking in the box. . .*twilight zone music*
My mom also had these two very creepy antique dolls. . .I'd always have dreams that they murdered me. . .They didn't move or anything, they were just scary.

It is so easy to make a little kid afraid of dolls. All you have to too is have a dimly lit room and have them keep staring at a doll or something without blinking and when their eyes start to hurt a bit they might start "seeing" the toy move and stuff. That's how I got my little sisters to get rid of their creepy dolls.

When I was about 5 I had a bear that when you squeezed it it hit a switch and would say something. One night I had just gotten into bed and it just started saying its sentences. I know it wasn't a dream cause I ran out and got my mum and it was still going when she got there.
I don't believe this was a possession though.
BUT, I do believe that a doll can become the host of a demon.

Well this is a story about a teletubby doll from a few years ago. Well I think that those dolls may be haunted because the seller got some shaman to put a spell on them to make people want to buy them or something.
This is the story passed around. (i'll try to make it as discriptive as possible so you can imagine ok) well here goes
This teletubby was being played with by a child. She was cradling it and all the normal things a little child would do to a brand new doll. Then suddenly, the doll said "hello". The girl was shocked and put the doll out of her room for the night. The next night, the dolls was on her bedside table again. As soon as she got up, the doll said hello again. In the deep yet smooth scary voice succeeding in creeping her out. However this time, her mother was there and upon hearing the voice, she took the doll to the nearest dustbin and threw it in. However, before the doll went in, the words goodbye could be heard. Clearly and most loudly.
This was a story told to me and I have no doubt that it is real.

I'm probably dating myself here but back in the mid to late 80s I had a Baby Heather doll. it was a computerized doll that was artificially intelligent. The problem was that it never shut up-- NEVER. My mother finally took the batteries out, and I didnt complain either, but after that the doll started 'waking' up in the middle of the night. Keep in mind this doll was fully functinal, eyes blinked, mouth and head moved and she cried/talked/cooed. But anyways, her eyes would start to open an close and her mouth would start to work with nothing coming out. At first I wasn't to scared of it, after all it was just a doll and I was nearly 8-9 years old. But one night the doll spoke and the voice was a distorted growl that said "bloody murder" over and over again until I freaked out and started backing away. the dolls head began to turn in circles. My mother believed me and put the doll in her and my dads room where it did it again the next night-- this time the head started to spin-- and popped right off. We burned the doll after that-- and two months later it showed up on my bed not the least bit harmed... my mother took it out to destroy it again but ended up giving it to her friends kid who begged for it,lol and about 3 months later I was riding with my dad on the horses and as we made a turn near the creek there sat that freaking doll next to a tree-- hands clasp, eyes open and her head turned as we approached.
We got the hell out of there and went home-- my dad went bck with my uncle but they couldn't find her nor have we seen her ever again. They stopped making those dolls after that I believe. I should mention this all happened on an Indian burial ground.

I believe robotics will be developed enough in the next generation to market "helpers" and "comfort" versions. Imagine the corresponding "possession" tales that will accompany the sophisticated robots!
OldTimeRadio

I do believe that it's possible for toys to become "possessed."
But with battery-operated playthings all bets are off. Even "dead" batteries can often regenerate enough energy to power such a toy for a few seconds or even minutes. Thus the "dead" doll speaks a few words or even takes a few steps. There's nothing mysterious about it.
And I've been told that it's not rare for little lighted dolls eyes to glow briefly during violent thunderstorms due to all the ambient electrical energy in the atmosphere.
