The Sensational Spider-Man
well a good friend of mine claims that there's a railroad somewhere around our town that a bus parked on and was hit by a train, and alot of the kids on that bus were killed, and he says if you park a car on the tracks and put it in nuetral the spirits of the children push your car off the tracks, he's heard thisfrom other people and claims to have tested this for himself, apparantly, and quite suprisingly, it worked for him.

but anyway, has anyone ever heard of this??
i'll try to get more info like what year this happened in or where it is.

he also said there were a few other hauntings but i don't remember them too well, i'll ask about those too.

I have heard of this story and I think its in Houston,TX. A friend of mine tried it and she put baby powder on the back of her car. She said the car cleared the tracks and when she looked at the back of her car there was little hand prints.

Urban legend. You can find these all over the world and it has to do with gravity and optical illusions. We have one here in Mission as well. (British Columbia) and I know of at least three others in Ontario.

The story is a myth - like LadyHay said, an illusion.

I think he meant more like urban legends pertaining to ghosts/hauntings. For instance, the hitchhiker, crybaby bridge.

But Richard Gere and the gerbil... *shudder*

Hehe, I knew you'd ask. The hitchiker is the story of a man who picks up a lady hitchiker on a cold, rainy night. She asks to be taken to either a home or a cemetery. If the story goes he takes her home, she leaves her sweater in his car and he returns to the house the next day to give it back. Father answers the door and says she has been dead for X number of years.

Second scenario at the cemetery, he stops and protests that she cannot go out there alone, she jumps out and runs into the cemetery. He follows and finds her sweater hanging over a tombstone that has her name on it.

Crybaby bridge is usually a local train bridge or other small span bridge that carries a rumor that a mother threw her infant over the bridge because of some heartache or other. The story usually goes that you can hear the baby crying.

I'm sorry. I don't do these justice. I'm not a very good story teller/relater. There is an urban legend section on this message board forum. Check it out for more!

i've heard something like the hitch hiker before, this man meets a woman and take her to this party or dance or something and she gives him her phone number and he calls the next night (or later that night) and her mom answers and said shes been dead for like 10 years or so (or maybe it was a year lol)

and that mother was mean she could've put the baby up for adoption, but are these stories based off something that actually happened or are they just those types of stories someone made up to get a scare out of someone??

that's okay im not a good storyteller either lol not that any people are if you think about it since stories vary from person to person

thanks for the add
i know Spider-Man is the best character ever!!

but i can understand (as ladyhay said) as to how it could be a trick of gravity (even though sometimes its said the car moves uphill)
but how could it be an optical illusion?? or even a regular illusion for that matter?? blink.gif
bigwedgie
Spidey ....here in england there is a pub near me that is so weird that if you place a glass on the bar it moves uphill and a marble rolls up the wall ....its a natural optical illusion (in this case caused by subsidence) and there are thousands of them in nature

Agreed yes.gif Theres stuff like this in almost every town near me. Not just railroad tracks, but streets that appear to be going downhill, but when you put it in neutral, you go uphill. Its not all that amazing.
