Fantastic Monster Compendium!

linked-image

A compilation of the strange, elusive, dangerous, and mind-boggling beasts as only UM and company can describe them.

To make this codex great, we’ll need to start filling it! As keen observers , each one of you may add an entry to the growing list of monsters.

You are the “unnaturalist“, illustrating a creature of your own design for future scholars to study and search for. Give your creation an interesting name, appearance, and behaviors. Where does it live? What does it like to eat? Is it hostile? Is it friendly?

Answer these questions as best as you can! Here’s an example to give you an Idea.

Name: Aurorofly (aeronima luxumata) ------------------------------------------------------ A more scientific name is always welcomed.

Habitat: Extremely humid areas. Enjoys lush rainforest. ----------------------------------- Where does your creature thrive?

Size: From a postage stamp to the size of a dollar bill. ------------------------------------- General dimensions

Diet: Small flowers and dead plant material. ------------------------------------------------- Does it eat elephants for breakfast?!

Danger Rating: 1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On a scale of 1-10, 1 being docile, how dangerous is it?

Description: The Aurorofly is an extremely timid creature, living most of its life hiding among the foliage covered floor of thick rainforests. It resembles a large firefly but one key difference being it’s body glows with a bright crimson light instead of a soft golden glow. On the hottest day of the year, auroroflies emerge from their nests in a swarm of fiery light that can be seen for miles around. These displays are often mistaken for wildfires which, upon urgent inspection from locals, turn out to be nothing!

Its as easy as that. Make these beasts as weird as you see fit. This is meant to be a fun thread for people to get their creative minds bubbling and no animal/monster/being listed here is real so skeptics, retire from your lecterns. Lets take a break from the daily quest for real world cryptids and discover some lurking within our brains w00t.gif.
grither
Name: The Grither.
Habitat: The North Pole.
Size: As tall as a Poplar tree.
Diet: Unknown
Danger Rating: 10

Description: The Grither is a nasty monster that lives at the North Pole in a dark and wet cave. If you say the Grither's name aloud then you risk angering the creature. Repetitively saying the monsters name will cause the Grither to come after you. The Grither has the best pairs of ears in the world and can hear you say his name anywhere on earth. So be careful the Grither can hear you anywhere... shush!! don't say his name!!

I couldn't come up with anything else Agapo lol.
theSOURCE
I could be wrong, but I thought these monsters were to be made up by the poster and not taken from any other source (the Grither is the creature from the Tails from the Dark Side episode Seasons of Belief). unsure.gif

Anyway...

Name: Flap Clinger
Habitat: The sweaty armpits of extremely obese middle-aged women (and some men as well).
Size: Can range anywhere from one inch to three or more feet.
Diet: Prefers baby arachnids but will consume naturally occurring body cheese.
Danger Rating: 7

Description: The Flap Clinger is a mutated alien parasite that was inadvertently brought to earth by one of the early shuttle missions. For reasons not completely understood, the tiny worm-like creatures' biological makeup was transformed by the combination of powdery deodorants and excessive sweat. Because of this they took up residence in the soft, warm and damp recesses of women's armpits (the larger the better). They slither out at night while their host is asleep to seek out their prey (tiny spiders) but if none are found they will lap up any bodily cheese they can find. They are for the most part unobtrusive, but when angered they will wrap themselves around their assailant's nose and suffocate him/her with their poisonous stench.
