It is natural that humanity fears the end of itself. And the fear ironically will end to humanity making itself extinct. But I do not think it will be anytime soon. Also, if anything does happen in 2012, it won't be the end of the world. I also do not recall about them talking about 2000, 2005, or 2010. What did they predict, out of curiosity?

The knowledge of 2012 is widespread already, and it's only a matter of time before it's broadly discussed in the media. I think this will be AT THE LEAST a self-fulfilling prophecy. When tens, maybe hundreds of millions ask themselves "what if...?" and take out large amounts of loans one or two years before, or even now, so they get a chance to enjoy life, and if the end should come they won't have to pay it back, if it doesn't then they'll figure out something then. There will be lots of things ppl will do on a massive scale that will have a great effect on the economies and when they collapse and there is real chaos, what comes next is human nature at its best - see hurricane Kathrina. Every man for himself, literally, kill to survive. Just on a global scale. But the best way will be to work in relatively small survival groups, build traps and hunt. Well, that's all folx. Don't see much point discussing this. What will come will come. If you're prepared it can't hurt. If you're not... tough.

Find me a "scientist" who has said anything of the sort. Scientists don't predict the end of the world.

I have never heard of a prediction in 2005 or 2010. There was no scientific evidence of Y2K. I believe SOMETHING is going to happen on 2012, although Im uncertain. I am eager yet anxious.

2012 marks the final stage of the b'ak'tun; which is pretty much like the end of the Mayan calender. I don't remember much, other than the Mayans had a very precise calender when it came to time. Who knows what'll happen, I suppose we can only wait, you know? Not much more to do, I remember when my friend went on a trip to México and actually met a Mayan family--it was really cool. I wish I knew more than what I've learned a little about in Spanish classes, but I don't, hope that was somewhat help.

I don't agree with you about human nature being "every man for himself." Many people traveled thousands of miles to help the victims of Katrina. Locally, for me, I saw a good percentage of the county population drop what they were doing and fill sand bags, deliver sand bags, and checked on the welfare of the elderly during a terrible flood last fall. Yes, there will be a small pct of people doing things for themselves; but, based on my experience, I believe overall that humanity will continue caring for one another.

You know what's funny. With all the hype about this 2012 stuff.. the popularity is definitely going to go up that year. I'm pretty sure most of the world will know about it by then. I can't help but wonder that with all the fear from some of the people thinking something will happen,I'm wondering if the whole world will just go chaotic that day worrying if that day is the last day & we just end killing ourselves... thus fulfilling the Mayan prophecy LOL.

In a way I don't want to believe that the end will come in 2012. However when I was 18 I will be 32 in june. I didn't have a computer. I believe it was 1994. I was playing around with a pendilum and I asked when the end of the world would be. And I went through the years from 1994 and it swung yes when I got to 2012. I then asked when the end would begin, and then I did the same thing and it said 2004. Then I had never heard of anything where the end of the world would be in 2012. That is my first memory of learning about it. Sometimes though I do think something will happen then. But I don't know if everyone will die or whatever. I guess we will find out. Also when 2004 did finally come in january I did a card reading of 2012 and I got that it would begin in december. In the winter. Cause the cards format went by seasons. Later I found out that they say it will end in december. Now I don't use those cards and I am a christian. Like I said before. I guess we will find out when the time comes. However I feel we should try and live as if we would all die tomorrow. We honestly are at the mercy of this world and galaxy. At any moment a meteor could hit our planet, among other things. Personally I don't know about the Nibiru stuff because I don't have proof that the planet exist. But I can see why the government would keep these a secret. For one it would cause mass chaos and world instability. Everyone would be panicing and everyone probably wouldn't even bother to follow rules and do anything anymore, knowing that a planet could effect us. Don't trust your government, they only look out for themselves.. Quite frankly I don't know what to believe anymore. I'm just going to live life to the best of my ability, if we all happened to die in 2012 so be it.. It's fate I guess.. I know that sounds bad but I'll just wait and see if anything happens that year..

Well first off the end of teh world has been predicted many many times and hasn't caused chaos. Secondly the mayans didn't have a prophesy that the world would end in 2012 one of many calenders they made happens to complete in that year. All that wil happen in 2012 i that some people will have to seriously revise their websites and publications that gave this date as the end of the world.

You may be right or you maybe wrong who knows. I've been reading so much sh*t about different things coming into action soon so it has me a little worried but like I said I'm not stressin. If something does happen in 2012 and we were given warnings ,it would be our own ignorance that kills us all for not taking the time to listen.
