From reading all of the conspiracy theory posts, there appears seems to be a common thread that the world is "heating up" for something big to happen. Many believe the "end" of the world, as we know it, is near (2012) and others believe the NWO is the catalyst for the end coming.

I don't recall the name of the theory; but; in simplist of terms it goes something like this: what happens is what most of humanity's minds believe will happen. Therefore, if most people believe the "end" will occur in 2012, then these vast amount of beliefs will cause it to happen.

T. McKenna, based on his mathematical (fractal waves) manipulation of I Ching, developed the novelty theory which asserts there is nothing new after December 21, 2012 (coincides with the Mayan calendar).

However, based his theory and the former, I propose that we all (some how, some way) push and push our governments and big business to unleash the new technology they have been hiding. If all known technology is released in the public domain, then maybe, this novelty will cause the end to never come.

...doesn't that just mean you're extremely impressionable?

Didn't someone once say in about 1989 that it was now officially the End of History, and that nothing worth talking about would ever happen in future? I suspect this will be about as accurate a prediction.

As to what will happen after 2012: the internets wil be full of people predicting the next End of the World, confidently predicted for some time around 2021, and trying, just as much as the fella who predicted the End of History, to brush the conspicuous flaw in the previous prediction aside.

I do believe in what we think can cause things to happen...are thoughts create reality.. I am unsure about 2012, i just first heard about it about 6 months ago... I do believe that our souls live in many places, besides earth, and it seems there is alot of evidence that an astroid will come close to earth.. not sure if it would wipe out all of the population on earth, but could cause most of us to die.. my gut feeling tells me, i will see 2013...

i have heard also the mayan calander goes up to the date, then a new calender is suspose to start. i think we have the technology to stop it in 2012, or at least make it not as severe,, and i think the goverenment is hiding alot of information from the public as not to cause wide spread panic.... time will tell it is just around the corner, remeber all the people who thought it would be over the year 2000,,

what is view on the raising gas prices,, i am curious to know,,,

If you look at McKenna's graphs, you'll see that a lot of huge spikes and dips are completely ignored (assumedly because they can't be mapped to any significant historical event).

One of that things that immediately struck me while I was looking at his graphs was that the dip or spike he was assigning to some great milestone in human history was, oftentimes, right next to an even bigger dip or spike that he just ignored.

Very true and essentially this is depending on the Point of view of the current Singularity. If I believe that we shall live on, it shall happen (as I see it), If you believe that doom awaits us, it shall happen (as you see it)...

We all live our lives seeing through a pair of physical eyes, however imagine that you are the only real person, and once you have seen everything through those physical eyes, you can then go through life perhaps seeing through my own pair of eyes, perhaps we are all really one person, a span of consciousness that experiences life through all perspectives, through all bodies that have lived.

I am you, you are me, only difference is perspective and the level of spiritual awareness... as in , the more aware you are in one body, the more influence you realize you have. The thing is, are you brave enough to become as great as you could be?

Reality, its a funny idea isn't it. All this energy in front of us, being hot, cold, solid, liquid, gas...

This is a great theory. Except for the fact that hardly anyone predicted the fall of the U.S.S.R when it happened.

And September 11 caught most of the world off guard.

History is full of things that have caught the vast majority of the world's population by surprise... And it's also full of wacky conspiracy theories that have failed to pass. So based on empirical evidence, this theory of the mind of the masses making things happen because they think they will doesn't seem to hold true...

Only small groups of people ever get anything done, the only exception i can think of is Telsa.

Yes but there are usually plenty of people after the event that say they knew it was going to happen.
