I had a dream last week, I believe it was Tues. or Wed. April 1st or 2nd, where my mom told me that I would only be able to drive our van for a few more days because it would crap out. And sure enough, Monday April 7th, on my way home from school, the van crapped out.

I just wanted to share that because I thought it was cool.

edited because I did not read the first post correctly. My bad.

Was it likely the van was going to crap out anyway?
eight bits
Second on Tia's query, and please also,

did your mother tell you this in real life, or did you learn of the van's situation in some other way?

was there any indication in your dream of a specific time for the failure to occur?

grin2.gif .... I had a car like that once, never went a week without something wrong !
Clovis
Maybe you broke the van by thinking then dreaming about it. Psychic sabotage!

Can you please dream about me winning the lottery?!?!?!?!

Ok, so you and eight bits are thinking what I had originally posted. Kind of takes away from the remarkableness. If this was a new van, driven off the lot and you had had this dream, it probably would have held more significance.

I asked my mom the next day if she said that I could only drive the van for a few more days, because it seemed like a memory of actual events than a dream, and she gave me a weird look and said, "Nnnoooo..."

As for the van's condition, it gave no signs that it would crap out. It did crap out before but it wasn't as bad as it is now, and my dad was able to fix it. He would check it out every few days after he fixed it and we just got it licensed I think the beginning of March or the end of Feb.

No, the dream was just of my mom telling me that it would crap out in a few days.

Perhaps, when you were driving it previously, you subconsciously felt something was wrong with it. & then, in your dream, you realised it.

Have you ever had precognitive dreams or thoughts before this incident? Just curious.

Why would your dad check it every few days? Seems a bit over the top to me. Maybe it WAS on it's last legs.

i think the van was a piece of crap for the reason above.if your dad was checking it it was a bad car.lol so its not a shock you knew it would "crap out" or break down.

btw how bad is it "crapped out"?lol

Yes I have.
One that I remember happened a few years ago. I had a dream where I was at a party at a pond in our area. The pond is privately owned so parties don't happen there very often. Anyway, in the dream someone locked their keys in their truck and I said, "Well, you know what they say, 'Like a Rock.'" (the chevy slogan I believe) And one of the guys in the group gave me a weird look and told me that the truck was a Ford. And that's where the dream ended.

About 3 months later that very scenario took place exactly as it had in my dream. And it wasn't until I was told that the truck was a Ford that I remembered about the dream.

At least once a week I'll have some kind of Deja vu experience. But experiences like this one don't happen very often. And sometimes it could be months between the dream and the event like in my above story.

He checks all of our cars that are road-worthy at least once every few weeks. I think that he was checking it so often to catch any potential problems early. We don't have a lot of money, so any big repairs take a lot out of our pocket.

And I don't doubt that the car was on it's last leg, but it still gave no indication that it would break down when it did. I was on the freeway when it broke down and it was running fine until it suddenly lurched forward and died.

Bad enough to be undriveable. I don't think it will even turn on.

It could be out of habit, or as said, to make sure it doesn't slam a bunch of repair costs on them later. Every job I've had required me to make sure whatever I was using was in good shape before using it and after using it, ranging from ovens, computers, to vehicles and industrial-vacuums. I do it for a lot of my own things as well, especially when bored. I'll end up checking my car on a nice sunny day without a shirt on as an excuse to get some sun on my pasty-white body, clean my guns and shine some boots when I have nothing else to do while listening to some rockin' music, making sure the printer and computers are clean and work fine, and even checking the furnace and plumbing. And yet, I still find time to sit on my butt on days like today and do nothing for hours and hours on end. Something must be leaking time and I must be sucking it up or something. But I have yet to have a dream about those things breaking down. But now, what will happen, is that I will because I'm thinking about it now, and then three weeks later, by chance something will break. Of course, I won't relate the dream and it happening as premonition, but instead a mix of coincidence and subconscious thought.

I was a harsh critic of any paranormal until 2 really strong intutive experiences totally fuked me over, one actually saved me from almost being desperate on the highway. Now I am coming back to spirituality gradually. Even though I want to believe there is no paranormal, there's no after life and follow science materialism, when I think of those 2 experiences, it fu*s my whole thinking of science in terms of paranormal.

You can read my 1st experience here http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum...hp/t119732.html

Eventhough ppl might say that was just a chance, it still dosen't explain why would my dad go so much hysterical just for one night and charge my m.phone by himself and my mphone blaring out noises in the morning, almost forcing me to take it. And seriously, my dad has never ever gone hysterical before that evening, and after that evening until to this day in relation to my cell phone.

So this was a dream? That your cell phone was working? and that your dad was hysterical? And a desperate situation made you spiritual again?

No, it wasn't a dream just intution. Thats why i found it more verifiable cuz might a dream might actually relate to what was accidently said in real life but intution is totally out of that context.

There was one more wierd experience I had but I can't share it as it is a bit too personal although it related to a girl I liked for some reason a lot in past, she liked me as well but never really had any physical love as her reiligion prohibits it. Even though I haven't seen her for 8 months now, I still can't stop thinking about her no matter how many or how much "beautiful" girls I hook up with.

Just joined form recently and wanna share a really weird true experience I had:

One day in october I had accident while I was driving Company Van on the job. The night before my father said to charge my mobile phone and then he stressed it very much to me and my mom (that my phone is not charged and I should charge it). I didn't bother and neither my mom since we were too sleepy. The strange thing is then he charged my mobile phone himself.

The point here is I've left my m.p at home many time before and after the incident and I didn't take it seriously and nothing unexpected happened and my dad NEVER said to charge the phone and never ever stressed about it and never once he charged it himself except for that night.

I wake on the accident's day's morning, and I said to myself "Oo, its all charged and stuff and ready to take so I might as well take it to the job today". And sure enough there was a accident.

It was a very strange and profounding experience when I thought about it afterward the accident. Essentially, I would have been stuck in the highway with no way for calling for help, waving and hoping someone might stop and no way of letting my employer know where I am and whatsoever if I didn't had mphone on the day. I would have been in hopeless situation.

I didn't really beleive in paranormal intution and stuff before this incident, putting the lighter incidents to chance and whatever, but I have no way of putting this such detailed paranaormal experience to chance, mainly because my dad never took any interest in my activities before or after (whether I take phone or not, charge or not etc) and I really have never seen him in such strong terms like charging my phone himself.

Wow. I hope my dream doesn't become real... (I dreamed the boyfriend broke up with me.) >.< Unfortunately, some of my dreams have been known to come true, just as my gut feelings have.
