Guardian Angel of Fire
I'm starting a new topic so others may hear these on here, i'm posting one atm but will continue to post more as i break them into smaller sections so that i may post them on here. First one is something i cant make out, tell me what you think. thumbsup.gif
Guardian Angel of Fire
Heres the second part of that section, again you'll have to listen but this one you clearly hear something and cant tell that it's us.... >.>
Um yah i'll have more evp's as i go too
A little more bout this though, it's near the end pretty much
We arn't wearing any shoes and my floor is carpet, the only wood near by would be the stairs thats about 12 feet away from where we were.

Right-cick, Save target as, then properties and change to windows media player
(dont ask me why it's real player, i saved it as windows media player, and it posted as real player)
Shankpin
Well, shoot, the first one isn't working... I get huge ? on the Real player.. :/

Right click the links and do save target as then save the document to your computer
(it dosnt have any virus on it i promise)
That's the way i sometimes get some of these sound links to work on here.

Why did you start your own thread when I started one for everyone to contribute to?

Masked Tragedy
The second one, wow. I kept playing it over and over....."Help!" ....."Tell them to stop!". Real creepy, indeed.
Magikman
I'm getting an 'insufficient memory' message and I have a relatively new computer with 2 gig memory and windows Vista, windows media player is up to date.

Members with older systems may not want to click on the recording links, we've gotten several complaints about their computers freezing up and having to re-boot.

*Additionally, this error message is provided by a windows popup with the media player: You've encountered error message C00D11C6 while using Windows Media Player. Additional information is not currently available for this error.

MM
NoahJaymes
Which means...thats not good.
Shankpin
my system is pretty tight here! & Not old at all.
NoahJaymes
I have a pretty state of the art PC myself...actually ran me close to 3grand for this bad boy....I couldn't even listen.
Magikman
It's a windows media player file, Real Player does not support them.

if you right click the link, save target as, right click the file, click properties, change program to windows video player, then apply and ok, then try to open it...

LOL I found that out!!
NoahJaymes
Yes but honestly man, when a moderator comes on and tells you that the files lag the piss out of peoples pc's, I doubt you will get a whole lot of "save target as" people...
Shankpin
Well, shoot, I changed it to WMP and then it said I needed a codec... and all my codecs are up to date..
NoahJaymes
wav files should automatically open Windows Media Player by default settings. Unless someone chooses to use real player as their default, itunes as their default, etc.

wierd i had no problem being able to play it at school today, same for a friend, even on a much older computer...
hmmm it has no virus on it, i know that for a fact. I mean honestly if you try the save target and change properties on it, it should work, i had the file condensed down so that it could be posted so it's smaller than 250k but not that small
Shankpin
change properties as in to what?

I don't recall having to that to the other EVPs around here.. but if you say so..

I opened it up in windows media but i get that stupid thing saying I need a codec, & asking if I want to look on the web to find it.. It's weird, because I've used my wmp since then and before then.. and my codecs are ok..
Magikman
No, no, no, there isn't any problem with a possibility of a virus......that's not an issue. I'm not an expert on the computer, not sure why there's a problem with the media player not playing the audio file. It isn't really that large, for some reason its just draining system memory. The only thing that comes to mind is that you say you got it to work on your school computer, maybe there's some kind of incompatibility with the version you have on your school system and later versions of the player itself. unsure.gif

Hers loads RealPlayer because she has that designated as her default player. Shankpin, I read recently that people have been complaining that if they upgraded their RealPlayer to version 11 they've started having problems with windows codecs. Apparantly version 10 plays the windows files fine, something I was unaware of till just now. Sorry for confusing the issue.

My windows is up todate the Windows 10 player, and it should work with any windows player, it might just be something with Vista tho...i mean that is a pretty grid iron program in the computer

Wow.. mmm. I just went to RP 11 few days ago as matter of fact.

Thanks for that MM.. thumbsup.gif

Its moreless compatablity issues dealing with certain players. As magikman said, those who have updated have compatability issues and this is due to bugs within the players themselves. When you update, they sometimes release a beta version of the next version to be out which isn't a stable release. Also, to figure out the bugs of each media player, go to the respective website and they should have a list of bugs and ways to resolve those issues. Sometimes taking you a previous version back.

My honest recommendation, no need to have real player. I have never had to use real player for much of anything and my life is media related as far as the net is concerned. If you have itunes/quicktime, windows media player you are pretty much golden.

Vista in itself is one massive BUG. There are so many problems, I don't even know why they released it. Btw, Windows Media Player 11 is out...might uh...might wanna check that out if some of you are having troubles...just uh...a little heads up is all tongue.gif

nope just me and two female friend, i have two sisters but they were at my moms that night, i have a dog and my dad...but my dad was asleep he has sleep apnea so he sleeps w/ a B-pap machine that helps regulate his breathing (horrible snorer...) anywyas he passes out all night when he's on it, if he did wake up he'd make the loudest stomping ever >.<
Shankpin
I question the word "help," but to me it's like it's calling someone's name (possibley) then "tell them to stop."

I have to hear it a couple more times..
NoahJaymes
The help was probably Shank smothering me with a pillow as I slept and you recorded it....im quite the ventriliquist...or however that is spelled....tongue.gif

i'm not sure but we thought thats what it sounds like to us, were open to suggestions
NoahJaymes
To be honest, I couldn't make out the help. The make them stop was clear as hell. We have to take your word on it and you answered my question so....excellent evp my friend.

thank you that is from the ouija board we had used, strange we got that EVP as well creeped the hell out of me LOL
the help is that high pitch sound b4 tell them to stop
Shankpin
Yea, i get it's calling someone's name Bill, or Harold (?) (something similar to HELP).. Tell them to stop, there is NO question about that-

again, it's bone chilling to me..

That supposed to be a secret. tongue.gif

Regarding the file, I think you have the wrong file extension - it doesn't seem to be an .avi file.

For those having problems, try opening it on Winamp, that worked for me.
bigwedgie
works fine for me ......and unusually clear content. unsure.gif

Can you remember what the general line of questioning was about ? is there a possibility that this anomolous sound could be from a next door neighbour's house ?

Yeah that link worked for me fine, I had no problems what so ever, and I actually listened to it last night or this morning or something. Not sure what to think about it even if it's a genuine evp.I was wondering what you guys were asking at the time this occured as well.To be honest the first thing I thought about the second one was that it sounded like a tv turned down or in another room.Either way If it's a real evp then good job.
NoahJaymes
Yeah, I questioned the possibility of a sibling as it sounds like it is coming from upstairs. You hear the footsteps, then "jargon", and then tell them to stop, or tell him to stop. So I thought it was siblings going at it in another room. Or it could be next door depending on its where abouts.
Magikman
Just as an update, the audio works fine from my computer at work, a slightly older machine running windows XP and Windows Media Player 10, so obviously my problems at home are issues with the Vista operating system. tongue.gif

I was in the basement, down in the ground, surrounded by brick walls down there with wood as well....um i highly doubt that it was a neighbor, our neighbors homes are bout over 25 ft apart on one side, and over 60ft the other side. The question we asked was "Is there anything you want to tell us?" the one we were talking to at that time was "Tomie" (thats how he spelled it but we think it's Tommie). He said yes then spelled "Bead" then later he spelled "warez," putting the two together he was saying "Beware" but as soon as we had realized it, it was too late....

Yeah just as i had thought it's the windows vista LOL
anyways i've stated i have two younger female sisters neither which were at home at the time, i'm male, only male child in the family, oldest as well.
Dad was upstairs asleep on his B-pap machine cause he has sleep apnea, dog was sleeping in his room if either woke up i would of heard it...my whole house is carpet except for bathrooms and stairs, and the stepping sounded more wooden than tile.
It's not only EVP ive caught of that sound of someone walking my stairs.
